The Row - The All-Things The Row Thread

it's great that matches is carrying it online, but i'm really totally uninterested in purchasing from a UK buyer considering the cost difference is huge. I wish a US store would put it online.

I just bought trousers from the Row!!! They were $495 originally but on sale for $260 at Holt Renfrew!!!! They seem like half-tights/half-jeans. I don't know how to describe it. I think Mary Kate was wearing it awhile ago with her miu miu clutch, deep v-neck tri blend aa top, walking down the street with her cell phone. Theyre SUPER comfy, but Im scared they will stretch out..does anyone else have it?

They sound great!! Can you post pictures please!?

baldy12 post photos for sure!

and Meg i totally agree the price difference is RIDICULOUS I'm also hoping they'll sell online at an American online boutique

I think as the line grows each season so will the availability. Right now it is way super exclusive...as far as the stores are concerned. But a few more online editions would be nice...

yea, it seems the only online retailers are in the uk (browns and matches)...
it could have been a conscious decision on their part, to keep it more exclusive...

She look ok...not great in all the looks...

I wonder what turned them on to Lauren Hutton, she'll be in their book too. I bet Racquel Zimmerman would be a good model for them...

 They should not put Laura Hutton in those clothes :ninja: Or at least make her wear a bra...But the clothes look nice.

i think they couldnt have picked anyone better than lauren hutton.
this way they have pretty much all ages/coolness covered.
they cover their own audience and lauren hutton if not applicable to the younger audience will attract people like my mum who in my eyes would love some of the pieces.
i find lauren hutton a "fresh" looking senior and if you ask me she just looks exactly like the girls but in 40 years time :)

yes i agree leyla. I LOVE lauren hutton, not only is she stunning but she's a genuinely cool person. I think she appeals to the people the girls want to appeal to, whether it's hip older women who feel a comraderie with hutton, or younger women who just think she's cool. Anyway love the first shot and the green dress especially.

I'm not sure i buy this whole exclusivity thing. Maybe they are saying that, but I think the real reason is more just a small company starting out. They may not have the resources to expand (ie finding the right materials, factories, etc) nor should they expand too quickly. i think they are taking a slow approach and good on them for it.

i think lauren hutton was a great choice to have model their clothes. she is glamourous and classy and will appeal to an older crowd and also younger people who find her inspiring & will want to age into someone as cool as her.

& i love what lauren is modelling, she really looks great in the clothes.

i think Lauren Hutton is The Row personified...she is perfect for this collection in particular. Shows that the collection can be skewed toward a more mature market.
Leyla, have you taken delivery of ss08? ours has arrived and is clearing customs..:D

I agree Meg, they are still small and you cant just 'distribute' overnight. Having said that, i think they are really targetting stores that carry the brands they want to see The Row sold with, so that The Row is sold as the 'basics' range amongst the high-end/luxury pieces from brands like Balenciaga, Lanvin, Alaia etc. I think they're averse to selling the range as a stand-alone brand but rather giving clients the option of mixing it in with the best of them.
