thx viking queen...
:flower:

ta-ta ...raiding the real real...
...

nice color...

*though i am personally very ANTI that company...
shady business practices and false advertising, etc...
:judge:...

so- blargh...
the suede boots have to go back cause they are HUGE!
so nice though...even better than i had hoped...
just the right balance of mod and bohemian...
and i was right- super easy to put on if you eliminate the elastic band...
so bummed i didn't find them sooner cause now they are sold out everywhere...
:(
unless i buy them in blue suede, which is cool, but isn't nearly as practical...
:ermm:...

oh well- they are made in china anyway, so i shouldn't really be buying them...
:innocent:...

i do have one more pair of shoes coming, so maybe they will be "the ones"...
they are shiny, pointy and punk-y...
:mowhawk:...

^ Not aware of the business practice issues ... maybe we can start a separate thread about them & discuss there. What I did notice was the very worst & buggiest checkout process I have ever experienced. I sent them e-mail about it ... no reply within the 24 hours they promise.

Not sure what other options I have in this sector ... Vestiaire Collective has some nice things, but once you buy from an individual, which seems to be the bulk of sellers, you're stuck with it--no returns. I am too hard to fit for that to be OK ... even when I'm familiar with the brand, there's still too much variation to be sure in most cases. I'm not trying to become a dealer here ...

if you check yelp you will see LOADS of negative feedback on the realreal...
both from sellers and buyers...
i could write my own long-*** review, but it's all covered there...
i will never do business with them again...
and i would never advise anyone else to either...

:judge:...

i've never bought anything from vestiare collection but i often see things i like there...
it's like ebay...which i like more and more, actually...
i'd rather deal directly with the owner of the object...
more accurate info and feedback...etc...
eliminate the middle man who is just ripping off both sides...
everyone gets a square deal...

not sure if i will keep these...
they are gorgeous...
no question...and comfy enough...

but very very flat--- and i was hoping for something with a small sturdy heel...
i expect to wear them mostly with skirts and/or dresses...
will try some looks in order to determine what to do...

farfetch

Flats can be really comfortable though ...

These are purple linen/Cupro ... I have wanted a pair of purple shoes for a long time, but I don't think I've ever tried on a pair of these made of fabric, so we'll see ...

OOOH---i LOVE those...
i find fabric shoes really comfy...
i have a pair of cotton eyelet ballet flats with a ruffle at the toe and they are insanely adorable and comfy...

it's like wearing socks!...

they remind me of a dark plum...
virtually edible!

Thanks--hopefully they will be just that comfortable :flower: The leather ones are perfect ... better than bare feet, and also very stealthy, like moccasins ;) I have a blouse close to this color .... would like to wear it with these and an ivory skirt. Or black pants ... or jeans.

If it helps at all, I absolutely love those! They would look great with skinny jeans/trousers as well, I reckon!

^^you love sneakers almost as much as i love yohji...

...

i wholly approve of those...
and great jkt, btw...

i'm sad, but i don't think those jil sanders are right for me...
they are lovely, but i'm just not sure...
my heart leaped when i opened the box, but i don't really think they go with my wardrobe...
they just seem sort of 'trendy'...
like they will annoy me by next season...
and i don't buy stuff like that, as a rule...

i don't know...
i can't even be bothered to try on any outfits cause i just think they are cartoonish...
beautiful as an object but too editorial for real life...
:ermm:...

argh!!!
...

were those jil sanders patent leather? i can't buy patent leather anymore - they will get scuffed instantly.:(

i mean...L O V E...

i had a pair of box calf boots in the 90's which i loved so much that i eventually wore them out...i miss them constantly...
they were perfect in every way...
:(

if these were just a little less pointy...
*sigh*

I found a pair of grey ones on sale and couldn't resist....

^I don't know where that pic was taken, but it looks like SE Asia to me....

sales are always better a week before black friday....

wrinkled leather jacket - john varvatos
(to replace my rather dated kenneth cole one from 14 years ago; it seems like I'm replacing outerwear every decade-and-a-half)

looks like SE asia to me as well...

haha...
yeah...irresistable sales...

a decade and a half is pretty good...
and even though you are updating, the new items shouldn't date or wear out very quickly and will probably last as well...
john varvatos seems like a very apt replacement for kenneth cole...

i call those 'investment pieces'...
even less expensive when you think about the cost to wear ratio...

:P

*i snuck a little extra thing into my last shoe order from yoox...
i'll post in a bit...
