Just found this thread! I was watching Portfolio (AMAZING - if you haven't seen it - get your hands on it asap) and was trying to figuer out who Julie Wolfe was in reality... when I found this thread I almost died! If anyone knows where I could get a copy of that Italian Vogue, I would live for them!

MY GOD!
Someone should find those "Most Beautiful Women in the World" ads - I think those were 80's...

I want to say that Marpessa is in there at the end... but I am not too sure - your posts are serious 80's (late I think) and there were so many un named girls at that time. Remeber how Montana etc. used to flood the runways with twirling girls!

from ebay:

V.M.G. I've seen a few photos of Marpesa, but I wish there were more! She is so beautiful and deserves so much more fame.

Definitely 80s and its early/mid 80s if you ask me. Anyhow yes the last girl in the middle is Marpy! Also in Part 3 the girl in the 9th photo on the left is Sabrina Barnett.

Cool cover posts and I agree Marpy was very beautiful but she was more of a runway girl which kinda stifled her. However, she's pretty much the classic sense of the older models(pre-Super era)...they specialized usually in one area. The girls that came a year or so after her completely did both and thats mainly why they're more recognizable.

Katoucha is missing, she was famous in the early 90's & 80's :

yes that is true. She is dead, at
She was found dead ine the Seine -river crossing Paris- and it was solved officially as an accident or suicide, but her family are trying to get more infos on that, as a man brought her back to her peniche house along the Seine (she was living on a boat).

(OMIFAN9 RESPONSE) PORTFOLIO is this very campy look into the lives of the big girls of '83. It follows Elite agency new comer Julie Wolfe as she struggles to make her way amongst the likes of (Elite Models) Carol Alt, Paulina, Patti Owen and a bunch of other 80's mega girls. Scavullo, Antonio, Meisel - even Warhol are cameo'd in the flick. It almost seems to be a movie that Casablancas put out to heighten the agency profile and cement Elite as the new agency power of the 80's. I do have to say that it is for only the most devout fashion types as it does border on rediculous and semi soft p*rn! However, we believe that you are not an insider until you've seen it! Carol Alts performaces infront of the camara alone are enough to bring tears to your eyes!!! These were the girls that raised the rates and ushered in the Super Model era.
Paulina actually reminds me a of my girl bit of Megan McNierney.

The unfortunate thing about Portfolio is that it generally sidesteps any models of color. Even Pat Cleavland (seen standing with Warhol) is unceremoniously disregarded! You do see a handful of Colour girls - especially during the Valentino show - but nothing too amazing.

Trust me! Find it if you can... I just got the last copy on Ebay (at this time) but I am sure you can find it.
