Vamos Rafa!!!!

I think he will make history on Sunday. Is there any other player who has won Roland Garros and Wimbeldon the same year... TWICE????? I dont think so...

Lets hope for a spanish victory... both in tennis and football...

Berdych played really well today. Poor Nole, he dug really deep to come back from 6-2 down in the second set tiebreaker but those two double faults killed him. :( My sports choices are not doing well at all at this moment.

God, it kills me to think about Roger being number three. I'd never thought I would see this day.

^ I'm sad for Federer too . But he's been on top for such a long time, and he still holds the Grand Slam record, maybe it's time for other players to shine now :(.

I really hope Serena has her head on straight and keeps up this extraordinary serve she's been playing throughout this tournament tomorrow because i know she can beat Vera and this would be a supreme victory for here.............just wish Venus made it to the finals:(

You know how in the second set (I think) Novak challenged a call that ended up actually being in but Tomas didn't hit back? Why didn't the umpire award the points to Novak? I missed the whole conversation.

Nole was saying that Tomas had no chance to return the ball but the umpire thought differently? Not sure, but it was extra cruel to get the warning for kicking his chair. In any case, Nole was a completely different player from previous rounds, I thought this would be a classic match given his previous form but in the end it was a bit disappointing.

That was an incredible point. Nole's defensive skills are amazing. Basically the rules are that if the player has a play on the ball when the call is made then the point must be replayed. Debatable whether Tomas would have hit it in if the line judge hadn't shouted but those are the rules. Anyway I think Nole won the replay so doesn't really matter.

I was just a bit surprised at how Nole's game fell away. He sounded disappointed in himself in the press conference. Tomas is playing well though so he deserves a final.

well i'm happy vera got to this point. after the awful year she's had this should boost her back up considerably and hopefully will give her loads of extra motivation for the remaining season. this certainly could be the turn-around.

and i hope she and elena win the doubles!!

Unsurprising singles result. But I'm supporting Vera and Lena in the doubles later. Still time to grab a slam title today Vera. (And they already beat the Williams sisters which is pretty impressive).

Serena at it again! now please retire:ninja: these Russian girls need a chance!

If Thomas playes the final like Del Potro played in USO 2009 Rafa has 0 chances. He sure has the firepower to do so. I'll be rooting for Thomas' first GS this year. As for Serena.

The umpire called it out. So Berdych let the ball go. So when Novak challenged it and it ended up being good, the mistake was by the umpire because had he pet the play go on, Berdych would have gotten that shoe back and not let it go like he did. This is always controversial because it's hard to tell if a player would get to that ball or not had the umpire not intervened and called it out.

i hope tomas can play as freely as he has the entire fortnight. rafa in a final of a major is very tough. in any case,i just hope it will be oh so competitive.

btw, interesting for change that both the women's and men's final have a first time finalist.

i think vera was really nervous today. i feel bad she wasn't able to get into it a bit more. i hope more will come her way so she can prove herself. but it did kind of make me miss lena this year.

Vera  She was in floods of tears from the moment she and Vesnina lost a tight first set tiebreak against King and Shvedova. After they lost Elena was wiping Vera's tears away with her towel.

Tough to take two finals losses in one day, especially as I'm sure she felt she had a real chance to win the doubles. Well, at least she was smiling again in the trophy presentation.

Commentator said Yaroslava had waited for two years to be able to play with Vania! The partnership has paid off. They played well.

Not sure who I want to win tomorrow. Maybe Tomas because he put out Roger and would be nice to see someone new win.

oh poor vera! completely understandable. to be in these positions and just be outplayed,it's heartbreaking to say the least. and i don't think it had anything to do with her synonymous breakdowns just that losing twice in one day in finals is difficult for anybody i'm sure.

soooo happy that Serena won...i knew she had it in the bag, now it time for my other pick Rafa to take down Berdych(which wont be as easy seeing as Berdych has been playing some incredible Tennis as of late)

Very deceiving final overall. Thomas just couldn't deliver any shot and came playing very defensively. Most of his shots didn't have power, velocity... and I just don't get that strategy of slicing the ball especially on Rafa"s forehand knowing how efficient his double hander can be.

The whole match he only hit like what 3 or 4 blastering forehands looks like he couldn't handle the pressure. It's good that Rafa won but after beeing accustomed this 3-4 last years of brillant Wimbledon finals I'm very frustrated that this one just concluded in 3 rountine sets. The semis matches were way much better in terms of quality and thrill than the final. :(
