I was quite riveted this past season. I care more about the relationships within the group and where their loyalties lie. Can't wait to see what happens with the Terminus nutters.

Still can't get over the fact that the Governor was Colonel Brandon in Sense and Sensibility. Now when I watch S&S, it's a little unsettling cos he was just so craycray on TWD.
 
really disappointing TWD yet again gets completely ignored by emmy academy. when will these people learn that the show isn't just about comic zombies? i thought the grove would have been hard hitting enough to render some recognition at least for melissa mcbride and the show itself. BOOOO!
 
^Well, if you think about it, since when Emmy's has credibility. Plus the rating talks for it self :)
 
for me having lived in this geographical location the show is set in and knowing many of these very sort of people and the kind of ideals and values i'm sure those characters dealt with,it would be a realistic portrayal....

Why does it always have to come why arent there any gays? i would never ever think about, this is a question which easily could be turned into : why arent there any ppl from Hungary/ England/Poland. such a pointless thing.

And this article is so pointless that I must say that the author must have been sitting and thinking about it for quite looooooooooooong time, or he has some issues.
This is so irrational, like i mentioned, that anyone would pop up with a question why arent there any Irish ppl or sth.
why dividE?? this is just a series. and ppl who write such articles look for problems bc they do not have any in their lives. thats just sad.

For gay people this means more sexual diversity which is something that we have been fighting for really long time.
 
^you hit the nail on the head...it's about diversity and diminishing oppression. it would be no different than if we had no michonne or even all the women of the group who play a pretty intrinsic part in the battle they deal with. remember that whole damsel in distress and the male saviour stereotype? took a long time to overcome as well. also,like i said,it would also explain so much about this daryl's character...his backstory and his personality.
 
If popular shows have gay characters and specially popular characters are gay then there´s no harm done, on the contrary. You´re teaching the new generations acceptance and open mindedness. Specially if the show is set on a country that seems to be the opposite of that.
In terms of character development and the whole show in general, Daryl being gay would affect anything? I don´t think so... it would just break old clichés.

Speaking of television and movies in general: imo we need more gay characters, and strong females, strong men who show sensitivity, blacks and latins and asians. There could never be any harm done by showing diversity.

All that said, I don´t particularly like when a tv show or movie changes characters traits that were created by someone else. Him being gay -or not- is it something conceived by the comic books creators or by the show´s?
 
I think a character like Daryl being gay would be extremely amazing. He's such a tough guy and it would totally wipe away so many stereotypes about gay men.

I'm actually surprised that TWD doesn't already have a couple gay characters. It's such a diverse cast: Michonne, Glen, T-Dog, Tyrese, Sasha... it only makes sense that they would expand that diversity to include the LGBT community.

they r different things but this is division it is like ppl were expecting to be sth there bc it isnt and they were asking why,t hats why i see this pointless, i have gay friends, bt i just dont see why ppl want to see that, they r ppl too, and comments like this imo divide them , like they r different.

I just wouldnt like to see him like this, bc I have always hoped for him and Beth ,that they had a thing and I wanted to believe that.

There might be some gay characters i do not mind at all, let them be, I would never even start a discussion like this, but it is the people who put quetsions like" why arent there any gays".

the just surprise me.

I'm sorry, I didnt mean to offend you in any way, I just read your comment as a sarcastic one, in my eyes it looked/looks like this.
Obviously, i know the difference, just that was my point of view.

I could say the same thing, if you dont have anything nice to say, don't respond.

Even if you wanted Daryl and Beth to get together (I agree that they would be a cute couple), sometimes people are gay and that's just the way it is.

The other day I met a girl who was amazing and beautiful and I wanted nothing more than to date her, but *shocker* she was straight. That's life! There are gay people, there are straight people.

The point is that the visibility offered to the LGBT community by having Daryl (or any character on TWD) be gay would be so huge and important. There is a difference between nationality and sexuality, a huge difference. You can marry any nationality you want. But gay people still can't get married everywhere, that's why having gay characters on TV is so very very important.

If it is anyhow to help you, why not. I just stated I hope it will not be Daryl , bc I adored him with Beth.
just when I wrote that some ppl didnt get my point, which might be my fault also, id dint stay it clearly maybe.

is that what it is? because you had this dream about he and beth together? that seems to be the general consensus amongst the straight fans,especially the women. it's pretty selfish,if you ask me. personally,this would be far more groundbreaking than anything we would have seen on television from that perspective of out gay men. usually it's pretty stereotypical and this character,as a masculine,no-nonsense,quiet guy would totally fly in the face every ignorant perception the mainstream world has been trained to believe. and going back to that situation with beth,don't you see it might be the reason he didn't pursue anything when he had that opportunity at that house?

do you know why? bc i respect your opinion, you have every right to have your own, but it seems i do not have bc every time i write ansd explain i mean nothing wrong, ppl just pop out TELLING ME STH as if i hurt them while i didnt.

And the answer to your question, no i did never thought of this like you mentioned, i thought he didnt pursue anything bc she is young, thats what i thought. bc he is much older than her, dont you think this also could be a point besides him being a gay? but his age also could be the thing. COULD BE, like ANYTHING ELSE.
 
btw, every one watching anys eries has hos/her own hopes for the characters they like. thats just how live is, if i watch another series im like" i hope he wont cheat on her" and then boom e.g he cheats, or there is a twist and she cheats on him, and im like what????????????? i never saw that coming, why oh why. that's just me, not hurting anyone.
