Thanks Yes, that's the one
It was my favourite part to watch
My illustration is inspired by Minoan wall paintings and pottery, by the way.
The main ideas of these are nature (animals and plants) and flat, decorative painting.
emma_leigh: Japan is such a source of inspiration for me and I am glad that some people did Japan. The garment and shoes and stockings are fantastic, but I wish that you would have done the dress in different colors or maybe added some layering of silks...like the geisha. Besides that, I actually do like it.
marvystone: AWESOME choice for inspiration. Love the horse riding culture. I think with your design you were off to a great start. But, I think you fell short in a few areas. One, I think that silk is the wrong choice for this garment. Too shiny, wouldn't work with the shiny leather. I would have suggested wool, or something rougher. Also, I think the print of the bridle is distracting. I think the garment would have looked its best with 3/4 length sleeves, an empire waist and leather detailing. I also wish you'd done some accessories such as riding boots and maybe even a bridle inspired bag. (you weren't required to of course, but I thought it would have been fun)
muxu: Well, I think that you conveyed the Lolita culture quite successfully. I think all the details are great. I especially love the mismatched stockings. I wish that the sleeves were short puffy ones as oppossed to long ones. Secondly, I would have liked to see the skirt more tutu (sp?) like and less...pumpkin-y? Otherwise, I think it's really fun.
sj08: First...no hat! It's a little distracting. Really, the only problem I have with the dress is the neckline. I would have liked to have it either a sweet heart cut or something with a colar popped at the nape of the neck. Also, I don't particularly like that triangle shape that cuts across the bodice. Just a few tweaks and I think it would have been even better.
pg_graffitti: Tibet is a very interesting choice! I think your design is actually very pretty. It's a bit hard to see. The only problem I really have is...well...the silkscreened image. It just seems a bit flashy for a rural/ rustic country. I guess if it was screened in neutruals it would be better.
JR1: LOVE IT. It's really a great design. You've got the prefect amount of inspiration and innovation. I can tell that Great Britian, London in particular, is the country you chose. I really like all of the detailing as well. And the shoes are to die for. So much fun!
guis: Very interesting composition. Although I couldn't tell right off the bat that your inspiration was Minoan, I still got that vibe...I also agree with JR1 that it reminds me of McQueen...which isn't really a problem! But overall, I think that it is very creative and you took the minoan culture and made it modern, hip, and...well...very cool! Good job.
I was inspired by the latest British Vogue Cover, and this style.com Report, and my last design... Go wild, and Remember..dont just link it to London! Think British, or even British Designers...Galliano, McQueen, Giles, Westwood..! Or think London Fashion Week, or St Martins Fashion school! Its your bag
sorry to completely rip of marvystone from the last competition...but I really liked the idea.
FOX HUNTING OUTFIT:
Red wool coat, white cotton dress with white pashmina around the neck. The dress is an empire waist, belted with a rough, think leather belt. The hem of the dress has a fox hunting scene printed. The boots are very tall and are a light and distrested leather with lacings and bucklings.

Here's mine. Uh. (the crown is not a part of the outfit. I just want to put it there for added effect. haha. ) I just went a little overboard with this, i think.
ok so mine was going to be a mod 60s twiggy style thing because thats very british and all but then it went all wrong so its a mixture of all things english instead....geri halliwell style union jack dress, punk boots, bracelet and leather jacket, kate moss skinny jeans, lots of layers a la sienna and jean shrimpton hair i did it quick so its a bit of a mess but you get the idea lol
edit: i forgot to attach the pic - excuse the scribbling im not a big colourer hehe
