i looove thrift stores. i volunteer @ one so i get everything for a dollar & probably 1/5 of my wardrobe comes from there especially accessories. no one in my town knows designers, so i'm usually able to snatch up anything worth holding on to

i got a pair of purple minnetonkas, new in box, for $10 at a salvation army here in vancouver, wa. now i have them in red, black, brown, and the dubious purple.

I was SOO excited last week when I saw all these scarves at the Goodwill!! Needless to say I bought them all, and for only $2.50! They are real!! The store workers don't even know how nice these are!

I found a Christian Dior scarf at my local thriftstore. I bought it, but I'm not sure it's real. How do you know?

how about taking it to a Dior boutique and ask them? however, i have noticed that the staff when enquiried usually says the the items are fake, even if they are not...i am not sure whether it s a new company policy to discourage people from buying outside te official stores

I recently went to San Francisco and got a pair of Antik Denim for fifty bucks. Great condition and it doesn't have that "thrift store smell". ^.^

Lucky criticsdarling! The one or two I've been to sell absolute crap. And they are in rich neighborhoods too, so I've just stopped trying to find something valuable there.

^^ i feel like with thrift stores etc it can be very hit or miss... and you also probably have to check in somewhat regularly because the good stuff gets swiped quickly...

Yeah thats true, sometimes I find nothing, other times I come out with bundles of stuff!

My best find was a pair of Marc Jacobs jeans, they were under £4.00. I was very pleased!

as far as designer scores go, my thrift shops don't offer too many of those chances
