Thrift Scores

i've found a vintage valentino bag, a vintage burberry sweater and an aescada suit with pencil skirt, pants and blazer.

I can't believe any of you have managed to find actual designer clothing at bona-fide thrift stores, aka bargain bins and not their pricier and more selective cousins known as consignment shops. All I ever find are cast-off Old Navy linen capris from three summers ago and jeans which appear to have been through... oh, let's say two weddings and a funeral (or was it four?; or just through hell). I guess it really depends where you live, and what your populace has to give away. Still, some of these finds are greatly amazing...

^^ Well, here in Stockholm there are thrift stores that have a part of the shops reserved for designer clothing.. so therefore it's not very difficult to find, and the prices are still very cheap.

Oh, that makes sense! I guess I've never seen anything like that. Yet another reason to love Sweden!

I find designer stuff on occasion because I go to the same store about once a week and sift throught a LOT of junk. and I mean a lot. Plus it helps that most of the people who also shop there are not shopping for the same kinds of things as me, so I am the lucky person who gets a lot of it:)

I wanted to find some designer clothing but not where I shop. I plan to check out other locations. Most of all I see a lot of Old Navy, Gap and Banana Republic clothing. I'll find some gems here and there like a blazer, dress and a black pencil skirt.

My fav finds at various local thrift stores and Value Villages are a YSL Rive Gauche navy peacoat for $18 CDN, YSL purple merino wool V-neck for $8CDN, Diesel Style Lab wool felt coat for $5CDN, Kenzo cobalt cashmere cardigan $9...

I found a Marc Jacobs blazer at Good Will today for $9. It appears to be new, and fits me. ...except the button (only one?) It's placed in such a way that makes it awkward.

I went to Goowill yesterday and walked out empty handed. That's a first. Not even a book or a tablecloth  !

Miss Sixty 'biker style' boots from PDSA shop for £10. They are so comfortable & everyone loves them

I also got some vintage sterling silver (they are marked) brooches and rhinestone/sterling brooches!

I've been wearing a beautiful cream linen skirt that I bought a couple of weeks ago. It cost me £6, fits at the hips then tapers to a flowing finish half way down my calves. People kept asking me today was I going anywhere special. I swear I thought I was going for the casual look - love this skirt!

I got fry boots for under 10 bucks yesterday...but they are too big
