Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland

Here a glimpse of Johnny Depp as the Mad Hatter. Kinda freaky.

I'm SO excited!! :buzz: really can't wait. Alice was my fav character when I was a child. I always loved the book & the Disney-movie. And as a Burton-fan (or maybe call it addict  haha) it's even more exciting for me!

i have to say...
tim burton NEVER gets it completely right...
in each of his films there is something that just isn't right...

usually it's the women...
* i think he must not really like women very much to be honest...
they always look bad...
bad blonde wigs or hideous make up etc...
he takes the world's most beautiful women and makes them ugly while making johnny depp look gorgeous....

i always forgive him because there is no one else doing what he does so it's the best we've got...
but i
WANT IT TO BE BETTER!!!...
:judge:....

i hope he takes all the time in the world for this film...
it would be worth it if he could just get one perfect for once!
i want an oscar worthy film..

B)

and not just visually...
i think sometimes the whole crew gets so caught up in the look of the films that they forget that the story actually has to be good as well~!!!...
they are all just having so much fun working together that i think they lose some of their perspective....
at least that's how it seems from watching interviews with the cast and crew...
they get all caught up in these details that you never even see on film...
but then they get huge things wrong...
as the saying goes..

*can't see the forest for the trees....
:ninja:

I'm so excited about this project. I was a bit disappointed to see Johnny Depp's makeup though. We have seen that before. Give us something new.

Wow i can not wait for this film!! too bad it's scheduled for 2010 for now.. i just checked up on IMDb again and it says Alan Rickman is playing Caterpillar. And the Cheshire Cat is gonna be in it too!! super-excited for the all star cast now.

I do love Alice's design, even tho it's almost identical to Violets. Still great design. it even reminds me of Stardust a bit.

I've loved everything about Alice in Wonderland since I was small. I like how it's so crazy and mysterious :p I can't wait for the film!! The cast seems WONDERFUL.

5 March.. that's near my birthday:lol: But I still have to wait for more than a year

Aren't I weird? What I love the most are Cheshire Cat, the caterpillar and Dee and Dum. Cos they're crazy enough

^not at all! i love the Cheshire cat also  My friend got me a mug with a traditional Alice illustration and if u pour hot liquid the Cheshire cat drawing disappears!!!

Mad Hatter was my favorite character in Alice in Wonderland. Then I found out that Johnny Depp is playing him and I love him even more.
Can't wait for this movie!!

I hope its not too dark and grey like sweeney todd. I want some hardcore ironic glamour. Like Edward scissorhands & some of the gwen stefani 'what you waiting for'. This is such a perfect project for TB.:woot:^_^

That's what I'm imagining too!! I hope it'll be as colourful and fun but not too dark.^_^

Interesting article about the film:

When it was first announced, Disney said that Tim Burton’s adaptation of Alice in Wonderland would be filmed using a hybrid of live-action and performance-capture/computer animation. Well it appears that Burton is also employing stop animation as well. Alan Rickman, who plays the Caterpillar in the film, explains to MoviesOnline that his face is transplanted onto a completely animated caterpillar.

“So, it’s a mixture. The movie is a mixture of live action, animation, and stop motion, so it’s very complicated and I don’t think all three have been put together ever before,” reveals Rickman. “So I’ll be with a live action Alice. I will be a construct.”

I don’t believe that the three have ever been mixed together in one movie before (I’m sure someone will correct me in the comments). It also doesn’t sound like Rickman shot his part on the green screen stages at all.

Rickman tells Buzzine that he’s “only done the first stage of it, which is them recording me saying these lines quite badly. Then, somewhere down the line, they’ll have animated it and I’ll redo it.” He also reveals that Helena Bonham-Carter, who plays The Red Queen, is “in a costume and in makeup but her head is going to be made three times bigger than it actually is on top of the costume.”
