Yeah... they've had some terrific sales recently.

I've never been to a T.J. Maxx and I've heard/read so many fab shopping stories! I am going to Cali in January so I will make sure to check it out.

I got some Current/Elliott jeans for $5 last week, along with some Theory skirts and shorts.

^ Definitely. I got a nice Theory jumper dress, in black, for $5. Will be great for fall. :flower:

Was it at a final clearance sale or something? That's so so so cheap. I'm so jealous!!

I went to my nearest store today and they had the most gorgeous Catherine Malandrino feathered mini dress and Gianfranco Ferre blazer! There was quite a few Luella blazers too and a lot of See by Chloe and Diesel Black Label.

Well thank you everybody. :flower: If anybody was ever a bargain hunter, it was me.

Yes, it was. The gentleman said he was marking down all the yellow-sticker clearance items to $5 for one day. The items that wouldn't sell would be sent to charity. I hate to put salt in any wounds :smile:blush::P) but I also found Cole Haan heels for $5 and a floral Prada skirt (just the shell) from their '07 or '08 resort collection for $5... :woot:

Check out Marshalls too if you guys have one near you (I dont), I heard they stock very similar things. My TJ Maxx got some gucci sunglasses in for $125, none of them really impressed me though. I havent had the time to actually sort through the racks but i'll report back if I find anything

got two pairs of chloe sunglasses at TK Maxx for £50 each!

Which is best - Marshalls, TJ Maxx or Ross?

I was in a Ross in Las Vegas and it was really cheap, but the brands were perhaps not the biggest. Then I was going to a TJ Maxx in LA, but a person told me to go to Marshalls instead which was better in his opinion. Although, it could be because he meant that particular TJ Maxx was very small and therefore not worth it. But I didn't think it was as cheap in Marshalls as Ross, nor were I particular impressed by the selection. But for future references, which chain is better?

advo, with my experiences it really depends which store location you go to, in my personal experiences I have found TJ Maxx to be the better of the three. I've never been to Ross, and I've never found anything extremely fabulous (designer-wise) at Marshalls, though I have friends who swear by Marshalls.

^Thank you for your reply. Of the three of them, the only name I recognized was TJ Maxx, but I didn't go since my American friend told me not to. But I ended up getting disappointed, so I just wanted to hear what the fashionistas of TFS thought of it.

In Las Vegas, Ross is the worst. The stores are small, cramped, and have very little in the way of nice clothes, designer or not. TJMaxx has nicer things, but they're way too expensive (IMO) for a discount store. The one near me is always empty, probably because of hte ridiculous prices. Marshall's is a happy medium. Not as tacky as Ross, but more affordable than TJMaxx. I don't shop much anymore, but Marshall's used to be pretty crowded whenever I went in. When I lived in California, on the other hand, Ross had more hidden designer gems, and Marshall's was much less crowded. I think it really depends on the nearby stores and what sort of leftovers they have for each store.

TJ Maxx, by far! And I can say that because in both Tallahassee, where I lived before, and LA, where I currently live, TJ Maxx had the best designers and selection (especially the stores that have their runway selection/collection). Plus, I always see TJMaxx being a bit more upscale... not just because of the inventory, but because of how their stores are with their employees. I *always* have to wait in line at Marshalls for at least 15 minutes. This happens at TJ Maxx, too, but usually the wait times are shorter.

Ross never has anything... I quit going there.

Thanks guys! It's definitely stored away for the next visit to the US. :D
