-High-low dressing (mixing high-end items with high-street finds)
-Fashion getting less matchy-matchy
-expressing one's style through fashion!

I like pretty much everything that Chiangsi does. I love the way fashion is getting less throw-it-all-together and more chic and careful. I also like anything my friend Hana wears (despite her crazy/eclectic look... she works it), and chucks.

-G.

-Sheer-ish/chiffon skirts and dresses
-Blouses that tie at the top
-Black tights/leggings
-T-strap pumps
-Neutral colored wedge pumps
-Anything gray (esp. tights, cashmere, and boots)
-Tassel necklaces
-Pirate boots
-Skinny jeans

Isn't "High-Low" a term for an outfit that mixes dressier items with more streetwear ones. E.g. Wearing a tuxedo jacket with track pants (okay this is extreme but you get the idea...). Maybe that's what you were referring to but I don't think so. It's a genuine question so feel free to contradict me.

*vests
*geometric prints (60's mod)
* "marni" yellow
*muted tones
*black
*Russian-inspired
* "grandpa" cardigans

chiangi's got it right...
it's mixing high end designers with low end designers...
mostly a diff in $$$...
not about the diff in style...

can be any style...usually a more personal, individualized style...

:flower:

^ Vogue also had a high-low story where much of what they did was mixing stuff from a designer's different lines ... of course when I do high-low, some of my "high" (diffusion lines) was considered low in this story :lol:

* Skinny jeans with heels
*Skinny jeans in tall boots
* blazars with jeans
* thick bangle bracelets
* leggings with short denim skirts

Great, thanks. Now how do I call the mixing of dressier and less dressy that was especially going strong in Italy last year. Some parts of it have been infiltrating streetwear for quite some time now(hoodie with blazer is still going strong).

Wide belts tied at the waist
Kimono-styled belts

:woot: are those already catching up as a streetstyle in UK?
i think they will be HUGE but are they really already a street thing?

*darker hair tones
*those 'golf' trousers just under the knee, they are actually cute in tweedy or herringbones, i;m almost thinking of getting one, they seem very "hot" over here

:lol: haha I reassure you that apart from trendy London, the rest of UK is still stuck in the 90s... I'm afraid for now the wide-belt-lovers club consists of me only. It's got a long way to go before it becomes street style:( You cannot even find wide belts on the high street:( Most people still wear their belts loosely under their hips, dangerously close to falling off altogether..... I hope this trend spreads soon, I'm sick to death of those skinny belts:sick:

try the japanese shops if you have any in your area, you can find very cheap original obis, even if they are not available in the shops as a mass trend yet..
obis and leather knot belts are already my big ss06 fixations.. :heart:

^ again, all crowded in nifty London.....I must move to London, it's already on my list of things to do before I die :D

You can find a lot more wide belts at high street stores. This is definitely a big trend emerging. :flower:
