Trends We Love #1

I guess the style of wearing stockings with shorts caught on with Southeast Texas a bit. I'm okay with this sort of thing as long as it isn't leggings + shorts. I guess the first celebrity example I've seen for this style was done by Maria Menounos, who wore a pair of satin-like gray short-shorts with this satin-like gray button-down shirt. She paired them with black stockings and some kind of black boots No need overdoing it. Should anyone try this style out, chic boots or even some stylish pumps would be almost required so that the style stays consistent. I wouldn't ruin sheer stockings with inconsistent, balance-breaking shoes or sandals wearing shorts all the while. So... No Converses with these. No flip-flops with these. Skimmers I have no problem with, but I probably wouldn't recommend them if you're wearing stockings or tights (as in the stockings that go from feet to just above the knees) to wear with these shorts.

I'd have to imagine that anyone attempting this will have to wear walking shorts to make the stockings + shorts look work best. It would be a bit harder to pull off such a look with shorter shorts. So none of those tighter Bermuda shorts for this look. No bike shorts either.

I'm really starting to like those cuffed short-shorts. These shorts don't go down very far and really can be dressed with either sandals or classy shoes. Non-denim cuffed short-shorts could be paired with a matching vest or jacket for a little extra flair. I've seen a lot of twill cuffed short-shorts around my way today. I've even seen some trouser-like denim cuffed short-shorts. I guess the premise behind these shorts is to show that short-shorts can be dressy and not (pardon me for using this term) skanky. If that's true, then mission accomplished. Some club-going femmes wear some of these kinds of short-shorts and really look pretty classy. Classy with short bottoms... it works. So I've liked these cuffed short-shorts. In fact, I've never hated these.

I'm really in to the whole dark glamor thing, especially black. I just love black in general. I've also always had a thing for punk, ever since I was like 10.

well nowadays I'm lovin summer stuff, colorful tops, flowery dresses, shorts.. they're nice :D

i've been feeling very bohemian and summery lately.. my favorite trends are:
ikat prints
one shoulder dresses
ombre
metallic sandals
loose white pants paired with a bright colored top
peace sign earrings
aviator sunglasses
eco-friendly shopping bags (i've actually been good about making this switch!)

I love the variety of sunglasses I see on college students! ^_^

We don't have a lot of money  but we make do and make good choices!

I hate to jump on so many trend bandwagons, but I'm loving the majority of them this summer. In particular I adore all of the fringe, ikat prints, tiny flowers and strappy sandals (but paired with classics and never together, as not to over do it).

ok some more on my list:
-high waisted pants (unfortunately it only works on thin people though..shows off slim legs and the waistline)
-gladiators
-vintage rocker chic tees and gray skinny jeans
-wayfarer sunglasses
-leather boots and tucked in jeans
-leather jackets!

I'm starting to like cropped vests. Some club-going femmes usually wear these short vests as tops. Other modest ladies pair these cropped vests with most dressy shirts. I've found some love in this fashion style.

- leather skirts and biker jackets..
- platform shoes and booties..
- the gossip girl -look (headbands especially)
- high waisted jeans, both tapered and 70s jeans
- high waisted shorts
- sailor style
- fashion blogs
