Trends We Love #1

- maxi dresses for day
- light-colored denim (but not so much acid-washed)
- feminine dresses with tailored jackets/leather jackets (a good subsitute of the girly dresses with tough boots trend, which is overdone)
- natural-looking hair color like most of the models are sporting
- ombre effects on shoes (much prettier than on clothes)
- transparent clothes (when styled well!)

I'm in love with this ruffle thing. I just came from London and I saw ruffles everywhere. Maybe too much...

I have no problem with ruffles. I best think of ruffles in regards to what we nowadays call "poet shirts." I've always found ruffles to be beautiful and even sensual with some garments. I usually enjoy flares, but also liked shirts and blouses with ruffled cuffs. You don't see these too much anymore.

I'm also enjoying stars. I think stars make better accessories than patterns on garments. A member of the faculty at my school is named Tara. She told me that the name "Tara" has something to do with stars. And she likes them. And so do I. She had a nice star necklace with one star hanging down. My favorite star-adorned accessories are those earrings that have several small stars dangling. Star accessories can be beautiful. At least I'd rather see stars than skulls. Skulls belong to punk rockers, bad pirate movies, and bad horror movies anyways.

Yeah I definitely saw a lot Ruffles, especially in TopShop, it was overflowing with dresses, skirts, tops that had ruffles. But TopShop always does a good job I think.

i adore this look, i should find a suitable jacket first, not an easy task,i m still lookin..

i havent seen a lot of the girly dresses and tough boots where i am! want a pair of patent black doc martins for the winter to completely rock the look!

i am loving the denim jacket revival at the moment, especially when worn with little floral dresses x

I guess it hasn't caught on where you live. I actually think it's a great look, but I'm tired of seeing it everywhere. So now I'm trying to think of ways to get a similar effect across, like the aforementioned girly dress/tough jacket combo, or perhaps an androgynous, "tough" look with dainty, feminine shoes.

I think its because I live in a particuarly plain small town in the English countryside!

I like the look a lot too, your ideas on how to mix it up are fresh - I like it x

Girly dresses with tough boots? What are we talking about- lovely and chic sundresses... paired with combat boots? Someone clarify this look for me, please? I still think of dresses as beautiful and/or casual. So I would easily reject ruining the balance of a look that's beautiful overall while wearing something that ruins the balance. But can someone provide a picture showing off lovely dresses with "tough" boots?

I LOVE blazers: schoolboy blazer, crested blazer, shrunken blazer, nautical blazer, metallic blazer, military blazer, striped blazer, boyfriend blazer, and so on!

tighter fitting bodycon dresses as opposed to babydoll everything, blazers, leather jackets, high waisted skirts
