A few S/S 06 runway shows featured a lot of industrial tubing. Do you think this "small" trend will make it to the street? Or it will never make it because it is too avant garde?

I personally love the idea of tubes! Creative..!

Stunning on the runway, very hard to pull off in real life,methinks...:flower:

well I think it can be difficult to interpret tubing into something that is wearable.....but then again I find a lot of avante garde designers difficult for a lot of people to interpret and work into their warddrobe.

That's agreed. But even on the runway, I'm not a fan.

I think a jacket/blazer with tubing in the "zipper" place (in the opening area of the jacket) could be nice...

If you look at some cyber goth stuff, this has already been done. Only on a much smaller scale! I've been wanting to do this myself, but i'm a bit unsure about how to actually attach the tubing-I was thinking straps made from clear pvc tubing that you can get in B + Q or somewhere similar. The only way i can see is by using loops of fabric to attatch them...Might give it a go sometime...

i love it, it seems to have been around for a few seasons now. i think it's a cute detail, obviously in a very tiny size.

the tubing on those outfits looks very structual and makes a nice shape.

although i dont think the tubing will make it mainstream but maybe piping on a garment would be an alternative for the mainstream.

This is a good example of something that will definetly not hit the mainstream. It looks pretty inaccessable for starters. As an experiment on the runway it's cute but not in real life.

Is it just me, or does that Hussein Chalayan pic look like a giant condom?

eh, not my thing. They kind of remind me of intestines. Maybe if they toned it down a bit.
