edit: you can buy them pretty cheap individually here if you want. I'd say Roman, Bold and light.

I'm just reading this thread for the first time since I have a typography class this semester. Anyway, I noticed in post 54, about the presidential candidates' logos, they predicted Obama and McCain would be the parties' picks based on logo alone. And that post was made in January. Interesting yea?

Thanks! Yea I like my classes so far. it's exciting, kinda like we're learning all these secrets about things people use a trillion times a day (type, letters) and it has an effect on them but they don't know how or even that it's effecting how they read or how they feel about something. We are making our own letterforms right now from pictograms of abstract drawings of realistic drawings of an object we chose.

Looks to me like they've used three different fonts to create the look: One is the large 'G' in the background, the second is a fancier 'G' that is smaller than the first, and the third is a white lowercase 'g' that overlaps the others.

Hope this helps--sorry that I can't identify any specific fonts!

The classic looking 'G' and 'g' are both Bauer Bodoni, although I think it's a specially edited version for Vogue Paris...because some of the lines are extremely light compared to the original Bauer Bodoni typeface collection, you can download the font for free here: [http://www.webpagepublicity.com/free-fonts-b2.html] (at the top) - and it's available to download Regular, I, B, and IB

The Circus looking 'G' font is Dogwood and that can be downloaded again for free at [http://abstractfonts.com/search/Dogwood]
