I like Mary-Kate, and indeed Ashley, but can't really understand why this isn't Elizabeth Olsen personally.. To me she'd make a little more sense.

I haven't liked any of the Elle UK covers this year and this is no exception.

i love mk and a. and the row but thi sis on ebad cover - the pose, expression, photo, even styling is not great. An dit is much to close to her face.

Taking the fashion world by storm? Who? Mary-Kate? Aside from those absurd priced handbags, I've heard zero buzz surrounding either of them, at least nothing I agree with. Along with the colour scheme, the evident Rachel Zoe look and passport photo set-up, I'm not entranced.

Every time I see a cover like this, I always wonder how bad the rest of the shots were for the team to think this one is the best look.

I'm always excited to see Mary-Kate or her sister on the cover of a magazine, but that's definitely not her best cover. Looking forward to seeing the whole shoot.

She and Ashley are designers of The Row and Elizabeth&James. The Row, the high-end line, does quite well with the critics and sells well (their $39,000 croc backpack sold out fast). Michelle Obama even wore a skirt from that line for an appearance on The View.
They've an affordable tween line with JCPenney called Olsenboye and also design a line of teeshirts for Stylemint.com.
The Olsens also members of the Coucil of Fashion Designers of America.

This is one ugly cover ... The Olsens are beautiful, but the angle is wrong, the face is too close (and someone already said) and too much photoshop ... But I do think it's difficult to make them not beautiful.

Besides the absolutely horrible white lighting on her forehead, I think it's actually a good cover. The angling of the face is a little weird, maybe if she had tilted it down a little...

I was actually saying this in jest because I'm not sure if this really warrants a cover. If anything, I'd say Ashley has more power in The Row and Elizabeth & James is a licensed brand, so their input is debateable.

And like others have pointed out, she is hardly taking the fashion world by storm now.

I love Mk really excited to see her on UK ELLE even if the cover is disappointing, i'm sure the rest of the shoot will be brilliant.
