UK Vogue November 2023 by Sean Thomas

The Instagram " IMAGE DESCRIPTION" captions always kill me. Not crying about perceived "reserve racism" or whatever, so cool your jets - genuinely find it amusing that it's like "Karen, a white woman is..." and then it's like "Mona, a Danish woman of this, that, and the other heritage is" and the same formula is repeated for each cover!
Yeah, I never get those descriptive captions. If you are blind and can't see the image, how are you going to read the description? Am I missing something?

They use screen readers to read out the captions, there's special software that does it and it's kind of neat lol (I had to create a user manual for one once).

It's super weird that all the white models are just "white women" and none use their nationality lol. Like... what? If you're going to do it for some, do it for all!

Ah, thanks so much for the explanation! I had no idea, super interesting to hear that!

It’s a fun ed and I really like it.
But I hope now we can dead the whole humility of « Poor Edward ». Appearing on multiples photos of your magazine’s editorial is another kind of narcissism.

I read the WWD article that talked about the financial difficulties of CN Europe so it makes sense to have this edition closed. I didn’t know it was that bad that they had to leave the building.

Curious to see the whole issue though. It seems like the whole ed was done during LFW.

I dont hate it! Cover wise I like Mona’s and Karen’s. Also, Mona is really growing on me these pas couple of months. I think she’s slowly having more eyes expression which makes a total difference.
Kate’s picture is great and Grace looks lovely

Love the first cover, also I think they are moving because the space is too small?

the idea is nice, but the execution is terrible, they should have chosen a more important photographer and stylist (it's forever Vogue UK) Alexandra Shulman was criticized for being not very inclusive and always using the same people, Edward in six years he did the same but was defined (by his famous friends and some of his fans) as avant-garde and innovative, the only good thing he did was bring Steven Meisel back to work for Vogue but nothing more

Why is Shakira in this? Not saying she shouldn’t be but it’s a bit odd having her here because I don’t really think of her with Edward or UK Vogue, unless it was at Tisci’s request.

Shakira is super popular now, I guess that´s why she was included.

I'll echo everyone's remarks : it looks stupid and the pics are way way too far away. It looks like they're doing a rehearsal of the shoot instead of actually taking the proper pictures. Edward couldn't go away any faster IMO.

Vogue House isn't really fit for purpose, it's quite run down. The nicest part is the outside, frontage. Conde Nast was actually already working some of its operations from the other Adelphi building for some time (2017/18) and it's superior in every way. It's a stunning Art Deco building and HUGE.

I didn't even notice that. That's so cringe. What exactly are they "saying" with that? And they wonder why people are dropping out.
