Une Fille Un Style - Paris Vogue

I think this section is actually still in the magazine. Someone mentioned whose included for it in the Lara Stone issue in that thread.

^ it's that black drag queen weirdo who was on the cover of last year's issue with Carolyn Murphy!

The "black drag queen weirdo" has a name...Andre J. I'd love to see it if anyone can scan it in.

Oh excuse moi - I don't really care what it's called - I'm not really interested in it's style or makeup routine. Hope the next issue will be a huge improvement (although to be honest that wouldn't take much) :innocent:

I'm not interested in it either really... I don't get Carine's obsession with him anyway. I would have much rather seen Lara featured since the issue is dedicated to her.

I didn't mind, I prefer seeing him inside the magazine rather than on the front - I'd always want to see a model on the cover - but I have no problem reading about his style, it's all about the individual, and Paris Vogue especially likes people who tend towards the transgressive.

And a man who chooses to dress as a woman is still a person. If someone referred to a woman as 'it', it wouldn't be nice at all - to me, the simple option is to show the same respect to others as I'd like shown to myself, even in such small gestures.

I only prefer seeing someone else because the female ones are more fun for me to look at. I only mentioned it because I was just happy that this section is still included in the magazine.

I would rather read about women, but sometimes it's nice to have a surprise. I have to say, I did really dislike the cover he did with Carolyn Murphy, so this article gave me a chance to have a more positive opinion of him.

well put, such a distasteful way to label someone:blink:

I can't speak for Karina but the way I read it she wasn't trying to objectify Andre but rather to reflect gender neutrality, 'it' being the neutral pronoun.
How do you refer to a 'him' that dresses and act like a 'her'?

As 'him' or 'her' as my first two choices, with 'it' being the last on my list, because it carries such connotations of depersonalisation. At least with 'him' or 'her', you might get the gender wrong but still grant them the grammatical status of a person, rather than an object.

Myself, when in doubt, I refer to a person as 'they' and 'them'. There's no sense of gender attached to the word, and it indicates that you're still talking about a person. It bends grammar a little, but for a practical purpose, I feel.

My favorite is Brune de Margerie. But I can't read Mimiko's posts because the pictures are too small !!!!
