US Elle August 2016 : FKA Twigs by Paola Kudacki

This is why I said I don't want to buy US Elle. Dreadful layout. I think FKA is an interesting performer and would love to read about her but sadly it's on this magazine.

The barely there "symbolism" with the pierced flower earring bothers me in such a bizarre way... :ermm:

Ohh I'm digging David's cover styling! Very Prada Fall/Winter 1997! I still love that collection.

So I take it the corset look is makong a come back?

The rest of the edits along with main edit are pretty good, styling concept and editorial design wise. US ELLE is far excelling US VOGUE's dismal output imo.

I have a lot more respect for US Elle than I do for most other magazines, but the look of their current layout has really put me off getting recent issues.

If you're looking for evidence of how upside-down and wrong-headed the fashion mainstream has got..... It's right here.....

The kind of try-hard BS you'd expect from Fabien Baron's Interview.

I have a lot more respect for US Elle than I do for most other magazines,...

I've tackled the Women in Tech feature from the June issue, and the interviews were actually very well laid out and quite accessible. It's only a shame that the fashion content doesn't match the articles. Always such a non-event.

The FKA Twigs edit comes across as a poor man's version of Rihanna's last feature for them. I was initially relieved when Paola Kudacki seemed to have abandoned her incessant Helmut Newton s&m references ever since she became a celebrity photographer, but now it would really provide a bit of diversion.

Thanks for posting, Fashion Mayhem! :flower:

Way too much text on the cover. It's not the first time they've done a layout like that, but I'm not looking to have to read an essay before I even open the issue.

Y'all can't come for that cover story though. she's serving, DOWN! The styling is beautiful. Absolutely amazing shots.

Work Twigs! Work!

I also love the "Night Vision" story.
