US Elle August 2021 : Adut Akech by Chris Colls & Kendall Jenner by Zoey Grossman

I love the Adut's cover, but the editorial is even better- the cover is probably 'the weakest' link for me. So so good.

Adut is great!
Very Vogue Paris in the late 90’s!
The cover reminds me of the Georgianna Robertson’s December 1996 by Mondino cover and the ed reminds me of an Alek Wek ed from that period too, by Mondino! Fabulous!

I only aknowledge the good here…

So Kendall has been “modeling” for how many years?
I think it’s enough time to show off some effort in front of the lenses. She’s just lazy and has nothing appealing. Beautiful girl with great body but that’s all.
Adut’s great as usual.

Kendall really looks like her real self here. She looks so much better in magazines than done up with the ovrrlined lips by the kardashian makeup artists. She should retire that look completely

So happy for adut!

Don’t hate any of it but there’s some really sensational photos in Adut’s editorial.

It's a downright shame that Adut Akech's facial expression/angle is way off in her cover shot, because Chris Colls managed to capture that sequined Prada look to absolute perfection - the colours are just so incredibly gorgeous and vivid.

No surprise whatsoever to see Kendall Jenner delivering the same old lackluster and vapid facial expression, poses and energy. Nina Garcia couldn't have just run with Adut's cover, allowing the monumental moment to sing out loud and clear.

Truth be told, neither covers entice me to make a purchase and I'm unable to remember the last issue of American Elle I bought.

Adut's cover is not my favorite. There's way too much purple who knew a day would come where Kendall gets a better cover than Adut. Her editorial though is fire! Not sure why they didn't pick a cover with a similar mood to the cover.

Adut’s cover is amazing. Her skin is glowing. She looks beautiful! As for Kendall, that’s going to be a no across the board.

Adut is amazing, both cover and ed....the other girl sadly, not...

Love Adut’s editorial. Kendall’s isn’t bad either.

Kendall's cover is ok-ish (it kills me to say this) but the editorial is a total BORE.
Adut's cover is bad but the editorial is gorgeous.
Conclusion: I wouldn't buy any cover.

I'm not mad on Adut's cover, it's rather garish but her editorial is really strong. Lots of lovely photos there, a classy, mid-90s W vibe prevails throughout; this is what I would actually expect from Alex White for once!

Kendall's stuff...me' nah care!

I don't like the covers, but the Adut's editorial is just amazing, the colors are vibrant & gave life on this photoshoot.

On the other hand, Kendull looks like a bored woman playing dressed like as model on her whole career. She must retires for fashion.

Was Kendall’s cover necessary? God forbid Adut gets her moment in the sun.

^ of course, and that's what makes this kind of sad, the Adut cover is just a gesture towards the industry, for validation, and the Kendall cover is basically saying 'we can't afford the Adut cover, it's unprofitable so here's someone that will guarantee sales".

I like Adut's cover as much as I like the story, the cover is just early 2000s.. and I'm all for pushing more vibrancy in stories, way too many years of beige, black, white, more beige..
