Ya but indeed it looks very 2000 isn't it? It's like I've seen this pose, this look years ago, I like her and I like the cover don't get me wrong but it looks like a reprint for me instead of a fresh new image somehow.

She probably has a deal with Elle for this to be reprinted in every international edition like Madonna did years ago.. It would make promotional sense since malificent is a pretty big movie and she doesn't really like giving too many interviews.

A big get for Elle. I like what they've done with here; the raw simplicity is quite refreshing to see and it's a nice alternative to what would've been a super stylised Vogue cover.
