US Elle September 2006: Lindsay Lohan

Really wonderful issue. The cover with Linsey Lohan is quite good. It's not inept like usual. I don't like Lohan as cover girl, but the cover itself is laid out well. Steven Sebring, Enrique Badulescu, and Lee Jenkins editorials are wonderful. Michael Wooly is okay. Alfanador... nothing exceptional from the master, but it's trademark Alfanador colors and style. Heck, even Benisimon hits one with "Closeknit" editorial. Not his inept self. All in all, worth buying.

LoveMyBoots, it's funny that you would say that you (almost) hate Elle- I was watching Project Runway the other day with my mother, and she said that Nina Garcia came off as someone who got lucky when it came to her job, and I said "Well she does work for Elle, the least fashionable magazine of all fashion magazines."

There are more pics that are just wonderful. It's a keeper in my book. Scans can't do justice to the dual page spreads that are common in this issue. Wonderful stuff. Oh, but the Lindsay Lohan pictorial is just dreadful. Guess who's the photog?

The cover looks AWFUL!! The outfit...are we trying to be like OLD LAS VEGAS here? The sequin top, the leather looking pant....whatever it is, and the cheap looking bird feather jacket....tacky! Great...in two months, I will see this awful cover on Japan Elle....just great!!

that pretty much sums it up for me. A horrible horrible cover!!! and the amount of text...... I'm just hoping it's a good issue overall.

But I'm excited for the editorials. I've learned by now to ignore who is on the cover (for US magazines at least) as long as the content is good.
