Kate looks awesome in that red Lanvin, but I agree that the Lanvin necklaces are too much. Would have been better with just the David Yurman jewelry. There is also a text overload, but that seems to have become the norm these days for all newsstand glossies.

Something about the contrast of the white backdrop against Kate is unappealing on the eyes, both on the cover and inside shot. The jewelry also blows, the chain link jewelry was unnecessary. The shot on the bed, however, is perfection It's good, but it could have been executed better.

I don't think it's tacky at all. I find it really beautiful and understated and welcoming. Aside from the necklace, one thing I would have liked more is if she were to tilt her head up just a little bit. Then I won't feel like she's being strangled by the necklace.
