US Vogue April 2008 : Gisele Bündchen & LeBron James by Annie Leibovitz

This looks like some photoshop montage, like they took two different pictures that were placed together, it doesn't look good, but anyway is no worse than all the other US Vogues.

i do not like the dress also, and not just on the cover, I think it's a lost opportunity to use some daring weird outfit.

Definietly dont get all the fuss, its hardly the worst US Vogue cover ever produced in my opinion...

So the ediorials are: (?)

Lebron James with Gisele Bundchen. :woot:

Michael Phelps with Caroline Trentini. :woot:

Shaun White with Daria Werbowy. :woot:

Anton Ohno with Doutzen Kroes. :woot:

Jared Rome with Raquel Zimmermann. :woot:

Can't to see this! Great models! :buzz: :buzz:

holy crap! i LOVE michael plelps, shaun white, and apolo anton ono! i may just get this issue after all...LOL

Apolo Anton Ohno :woot:

And no surprises with the model casting, of course

and might i just say, Apolo Anton Ono is one of the most gorgeous men i've ever seen. if he wasn't a speed skater, he'd have been a model FOR SURE. lol

boring model cast
but yes there are quite better looking athletics out there :ninja:

shape issue sounds just not good, i always skip shape articles in all mags
casting is very Vogue us, i can't say i am disappointed with it

That was such a cute and fun video, Gisele has so much personality and the girl can pose also other photos look stunning, cant wait to get this.

That cover is a train wreck. I wish I knew what was going on inside Anna Wintour's head. I posted about it on my blog yesterday and yeah, King Kong was the first image that popped into my head too.

correct me if i'm wrong, because i've never bought the shape issue before, but doesn't it cover people that are diverse, culturally and physically, and have articles about health issues? i honestly don't know why people are so against a shape issue in Vogue. do you really think that only people of a certain body type read this magazine? i certainly hope not. fashion isn't just about clothes, it's about looking and feeling fabulous.

the video is quite interesting, and the rest of the pics looks amazing. they just picked the wrong one for the cover....

why are ppl saying the cover wouldn't look bad if Lebron wasn't there?
Gisele looks as if she's falling to the side; it probably wouldn't look as awful as it does now, but it still would be a horrid cover

i think shaun white and daria would have made a fantastic cover...
she always looks great when she's paired up with a not-so-obvious guy...
i loved the ed she did recently in gq with seth rogan...

But I will go to the bright spot here and thats LeBron...he is the 1st black man on a Vogue cover...

That's a good point. I have to stop making fun of this cover for a minute to applaud the fact that LeBron is a new and exciting cover subject (even though he looks a little too excited on the cover, ha ha).

And I thought about it and the cover isn't so bad if you look at it in a "Beauty and the Beast" kind of way... I suppose it can be construed as something witty rather than just plain comical.

But what a waste of potential hotness where LeBron is concerned. I mean, have you guys seen the latest Men's Vogue with Alex Rodriguez on the cover? I almost swooned to death because Rodriguez looks so imposing and sexy. What I'm saying is that imposing can look good... imposing doesn't have to look like a mess (like it does in LeBron's case).

Oops, I was trying to be positive about the LeBron cover... oh well. Ha ha!

^^LMAO hahha oh i sooo second the Rodriguez comment, that cover is HOT!

And at least James looks good in other pictures.....

good that he's the first black male but they still set him up with this one

well..wait. is it really true he is the first black male on a Vogue cover? Will Smith was on Men's Vogue. :innocent:

That said, the Shape editorial is usually a bit of a swizz, with the 'short' person being 5'7" and the 'curvy' person without an ounce of spare flesh on her frame. There's never anyone who isn't already a model or, as a celeb, isn't already featured in fashion magazines - I think Crystal Renn is as extreme as it gets.

I don't have the past issues to hand, but I can never remember thinking that they were particularly inclusive - to me, it's just a yearly selling gimmick, a chance to put a big headline on the cover and draw in a few more buyers who'll think, this month, US Vogue sounds more relevant to their lifestyle.
