US Vogue December 2006 : Nicole Kidman by Mario Testino

The ed with Sasha, Gemma, Karen, Caroline is great. The rest is pretty blah, especially Caroline's ed.

And there really is a long feature on flowers, with full-page pics. It's really bizarre.

thats a horrible cover! why did they make her hair so frizzy?!?!?! can someone post the angela ed?

^yeah, i know that. but they could have styled it so it wasn't frizzy.

I guess they wanted to go natural? Anyway, I'm a friend of frizzy hair.

I can't get over how terrible Nicole looks on this cover, I thought it would be better in person but no it's hideous. I can't believe with all the supposed creative talent Vogue has that they would approve that shot as the cover!! Did they not refer back to Nicole’s previous stunning covers? Anyway…

The cover is so much worse upon seeing it in a larger version, Nicole's hair frankly looks scary and like something out of the 80s, not hot.

Jennifer's Bazaar cover is by far the nicer of the two, IMO.

Sorry, some of the pictures are not in order.

This editorial is gorgeous but unfortunately it is the only one Vogue has to offer this month.

Dammit I was all excited about this because Karen was going to be in it, but they hardly used her at all and you can only really see her in one pic.

i just got this issue today, and the shot of gemma with the floral headdress is gorgeous!!
i wish there was more karen in the ed...i only recognize her in one shot...

the shots of nicole kidman (by testino) are a mix of black & white in sweaters and cargos and color shots in gowns (versace, carolina herrera, zac posen, givenchy haute couture, vera wang)...

not normally a fan of caroline trentini, but this is the best ed i've seen from her in a while...beautifully shot by elgort, styled by tonne goodman, she looks fresh and lovely...the ed is based on a book about photographer peter beard's journeys, and features trentini and surfer chris clarke channelling beard and former wife cheryl tiegs...

the roger federer interview belongs in mens vogue...nice, but out of place...

angela lindvall's ed is also beautiful...

there's an interview with proenza schouler and pics of some pieces from their upcoming target line, and a preview of sophia kokosalski's upcoming presentation for vionnet...

ads:
the usual resort ads for dolce and prada
lily donaldson for dior (in a silver metallic top and pants with a white bag)
anja rubik for estee lauder beautiful (i hadn't seen this yet...very cute)

brilliant cover, something completely original but i am dissappointed with the text, i cant believe she is talking about her personal life. But the pics with angela and her son and beyond adorable, i love the movie pic, that is probably going to be her favourite ed ever!!!

regardless of how the photos turned out, i am just glad she's back on the cover of vogue. she's one of the few who are legitimate enough to earn one. and i love her! thanks for the scans.

Frizzy hair looks completely out of place on a US Vogue cover, but I almost like it for that very reason.... transgressive hair!
