US Vogue December 2008 : Jennifer Aniston by Craig McDean

Nah....VOGUE US is too sterile for any kinda of shock! Just pure wholesome American values!

Yikes! Isn't US Vogue supposed to be a fashion magazine and not a gossip magazine?! Whatever issues Jennifer has with Brangelina, she should have revealed it to a magazine like OK or US Weekly. Seriously, US Vogue has officially lost its magic.

The cover is hideous too. Sorry.

I have given up on fighting US Vogue. Anna Wintour is my lord and savior. If she says there should be a beach editorial with Jennifer Aniston in the middle of December, then there should be. If she wants Meisel to shoot Trentini jumping, then it should happen. She is always right, and everything is as it should be.

The problem is that fashion this days is not at all about how everything should be, it's all about mixing styles, create new looks and differents points of view otherwise it would be boring, as someones said "there are no more Audrey Hepburns" or "Ladies who lunch", my main problen with the cover is that it's boring and don't bring nothing new to the fashion world.

I disagree. Part of being "exclusive" is keeping the circle tight and small and admitting only very very few people. It's not about admitting who is the most worthy, it's about keeping the numbers small.

If everyone worthy of being admitted was admitted in, the exclusivity factor would disappear.

Take a look at college admissions. Half of the applicant pool is more than worthy of entering top-tier colleges, yet admissions is less than 10%. As a result, the "exclusivity" title of those few schools are reinforced.

Likewise with Vogue.
Oh come on, this is a fashion magazine we are tallking about not Harvard University.

I know what you mean and understand the concept, but having 10 women rotating for the last 15 + years is ridicilous, it brings nothing innovative, fresh or interesting all of which should be the main focus of a high fashion magazine. It does not reinforce their "status" it degrades it, just ask any person within fashion community about US Vogue and you will hear the sound of laughing, sadly.

Dont get me wrong, i dont want to see Jessica Simpson on the cover, i will go to ELLE for that, but make it more diverse and fun without compromising your "status" it can be done.So if you are going to use Nicole Kidman for the 100th time, make an effort to do something different and exciting and still make her look good without the tacky taglines.Just like you said about when you see Richie or Lohan on the cover of Bazaar you cant take them seriously, well at least they dont do stuff like this to sell their magazine, there is no pretention, and grand illusions of being an arbiter of style all while using dirt from celebrite's lives on the cover to sell your magazine.

I have been their reader my whole life, and i want some change damitt, yes we can.

Ha! And who'd have imagined that US Bazaar could get Terry Richardson to shoot Lindsay Lohan - and still produce a cover with more class than US Vogue has with this?

Aaaaah, hilarous:rofl:! But I don't know if Vogue can. Although in my heart I always hope they can do much betta:judge:!

^^She is as much a hypocrite as the darling woman in your avy is! But she has showed faar more class about this whole thing.
You mean she is a classy media w****?

On a serious note, I would be very careful when attaching the term 'class' to any celebrity. For example, most people here would name Grace Kelly the epitome of class. Well, back in Hollywood, she was not only known for her extreme promiscuity but for her fondness for married men (not one married man but many married men). But since she kept a dignified, holier-than-thou, touch-me-not exterior and demeanor, then she must be a class act.
You can choose to buy what your favourite celebrities are selling (and when it comes to stars like Cate Blanchett and Angelina, I am more willing to drink the Kool-aid than with others), but at the end of the day, putting moral or ethical attributes to PR creation such as Hollywood actresses is straight-up naive and ridiculous. Stop trying to hold these people to moral standards, it's daft: what you see id the media creation, not the real people. You have no idea what dirty secrets they hide behind closed door, and if only 5% of the items on the Blind item thread are true, they are hiding a awful lot (hell, just read any authauritative biography about old Hollywood stars, nothing changed).
Entertainment people should only be judged by one standard: whether they are entertaining or not (unless of course, they break the law). If you can't see that, well...

^ One of many definitions of class is being able to keep your dirty secrets behind those closed doors, regardless of how many there are because EVERYBODY has something to be protective of. I don't think that when Miss Dolloway said it was classy of Jen not to go spilling every dirty detail of her breakup with every media source, she meant to comment on her morals or ethics. I could be mistaken, but that's not at all what I took from her comment. It was simply a statement that, for whatever reason be it PR or her own personal choice not to divulge the information, the decision to do so made her appear classier than many people would in the same situation.

Miss Dalloway didn't say that Jen is more classy, but that she has shown more class.

^OK, first Jennifer did spill every little details of her break up to Vanity Fair (a publication available worldwide with a outreach of millions). Second, your definition of class is definitely not my definition of class (what your are describing is more akin to conceit to me), so we'll have to agree to disagree.

That is exactly what i meant and i still stand by that comment. Her Vanity Fair interview did not read to me like she was spilling every little detail about it, simply a courages account from a hurt woman who was going through this public mess, i think its a fantastic interview, i am sure Harumi would disagree, i thought she could have done a faar more nastier approach. But that was the only time in 3 years until now that she has mentioned anything about it, while Jolie has not shown as much diplomacy as i think she could & should have through the years.

And Harumi i definietly dont see it like that, to pessimistic for me, but i think its fantastic that we have different views, and still can agree to disagree.

I am loving all the debate going on in this thread, it's amazing. :):flower:

i don't get all the debate about Jen' on the cover ... and i'm soo annoyed by the same old comments with every month Vogue US cover ....

but what would be genius is that Angelina would grace next month cover to reply to Jen. ..... could Luxx find some hilarious text that would be on that cover ?

:woot:

I think Angelina could respond with any of the following:

"Jennifer wouldn't know cool if it hit her upside the head."

"Um...didn't that happen like 3 years ago..."

"Sorry. Can't talk now. Busy raising SIX KIDS."

"Aniston? I'm sorry that name isn't ringing a bell... Is she on Gossip Girl?"

"Why you mad though?"

"If you like it then you shoulda put a ring on it...oh wait. Oops."

"MoveOn.org"

A good old fashioned STFD could work too though.

(How about a few of the girls from "Mad Men" on the cover? I mean if Blake Lively can get effin' "W" for crying out loud....)

Jen will be on Oprah today talking about her cover of Vogue. The Mighty Opes loves Aniston almost as much as she loves her some Obama, get ready for some major cheese...*gags*
