Marion's dress has very clearly been altered.

The neckline on it is so badly done! Either it's changed colour totally, or they've just totally digitally altered the dress.

To me it's Penelope who looks the most photoshopped 'in' as it were. I think if you budged Kate sidewards into the place of Penelope you could probably get away with the picture looking at least like the three of them were present for that shot.

You can see their feet are in the water, so i'd say they probably merged a few different shots together from that one shoot.

I'd take it for granted. I'm sure Annie "dramatic cg-drawings" Leibovitz worked hard to deserve the recognition her name carries in the industry, and I guess that if I ~take a look at her early work I might see the light, but stuff like this makes me question her validity as a photographer.

I'm just glad for Marion (is this her first Vogue us cover?) and Penelope.
And I hope there's a Daniel Day-Lewis shot there somewhere...

Yes, the level of photoshopping we have to accept here is almost overwhelming. Fine if they touch up a person's face to death. Fine if they tweak the background to the point of no return. Fine if they mess with the clothing. And fine if they plop people on top of each other to scrunch them into one "ideal" shot. But having to digest all of these "improvements" at once is a bit much. The cover is a mess because of it.

Note: it's not really "fine" to me that we have to accept crappy photoshopping period, but I'll shut up about that.

Did anyone else notice Kate's hair on the HQ cover? A few strands look almost copper-y, as if her outfit bled into her hair

Also theirs a random light circle on the right side of Marion's dress, is that flare from the sun on the photograph?

The massive amount of photoshopping in this single photo takes away from any beauty there might have been in the first place.

I asked the same thing about ten pages ago; no real answer yet, but I do wonder if it was placed there to try to emphasis the idea of 'natural' sunlight, when it would take more than a small misty patch to rescue any sense of that.

Yeah that's her. They're all in costume in that pic.
Fergie plays a prostitute from the main character's childhood, so that's why she looks....the way she does

I had a play in photoshop last night and changed the masthead to white and took down the colour saturation and it looked so much better.
I definitely feel like the way their heads are cut out against the black 'Vogue' is a huge highlighter of the retouching.
