US Vogue November 2009 : Marion, Penelope, Nicole and Kate by Annie Leibovitz

If this issue were a color it would be taupe...

Full review in a moment.
I don't want to sound rude or impatient, but you're being an incredible tease  :D

Sorry for the delay, had to grab dinner and cupcakes :brows: I am going to try and list everything good. The theme of this issue seems to revolve around green living - the overall effect as I said before is taupe. Its sort of standard fare but there are moments of interest.

Vogue US November 2009

Editorials:

Everything & the Farm

Ph. Mario Testino
Models: Karlie Kloss and TOMSTU
Fashion Editor: Tonne Goodman

Karlie and Tom Struridge traipsing around an organic farm pretending that Chloe capes have something to do with green living. Very autumnal.

Midnight in the Garden of Good

Ph. Raymond Meier
Fashion Editor: Elissa Santisi
Model: Kim Noorda!!
Hair: Ward
Makeup: Makky

If you've seen one Meier for Vogue edit you've seen them all but this one is nice. Kim night gardening for some strange reason. Perhaps the garden needs more evil...

Only one picture - pity really because this is my personal favorite Karlie shot in the issue.

Out of the Wilderness

Ph. Norman Jean Roy
Model: Carolyn Murphy
Fashion Editor: Tabitha Simmons

Steal of the month - good looking utility jacket on Carolyn looking all sporty and California girl like only she can.

CFDA portfolio featuring the finalists and either a model or an actor. Less engaging than Norman's previous CFDA portfolios but still nice to look at. The clothes are gems.

Playing the Field

Hair: Didier Malige
Makeup: Gucci Westman

Karen Elson being Karen Elson for four pages as Craig McDean finds new ways to make the photos look pink and/or salmon.

Ph: Hilary Walsh
Model: Lauren Hutton

Dreaming the Landscape

Ph. Annie Liebovitz
Sittings Editor: Phyllis Posnick

Vogue's favorite artists (and you know who they are already - Peyton, Koons, Vezzoli - et al.) create art about nature. Interesting works I must say and the Liebovitz picture is very pure - almost makes up for the horrific cover. Almost.

Thanks so much for the review! You deserve all the karma in the world right now, unfortunately I can't give you any at the moment.

By the way, Kim Noorda in US Vogue :ninja: :buzz:

Thank you luxx!!

i love karlie and am a huge fan...but i really think vogue needs to back off just a little bit. she is starting to get overexposure and that may not be a good thing for a model. how about just ONE editorial of her per issue!

can you tell me if there is any daria pictures in the FNO article??

Thanks for the review!!!
I am so excited for Top Ten and The Daily News! I love me some Lily and Karlie
Also, Kim in Vogue is great, well deserved exposure for her!
Karma! Karma! Karma!

Thanks for the review. There's 7 editorials and Karlie is in 4 of them, how magnificent is that ? This just keeps getting better and better ...

Looking forward to "Midnight in the Garden of Good".

i have nothing against Karlie...but how much of her are we meant to stomach.
if she was in 1 ed, that would be fine, but 4!!! that is ridiculous!!!
There are other models, models that are well suited for American Vogue, but every month all i see is the same.... that is just sad!!!:ninja:

OMG! Anna is madly in love with Karlie! she's got 4 editorials! this just proves that she's the new Caroline Trentini of US Vogue. :) :D but i don't care if she's in 1 or more ed. as long as she's in it. :) i just love Karlie that's why. :D so excited for her ed. with Tom Sturidge. ;)

so happy for Kim Noorda for scoring an ed.! by the way, is this her debut in US Vogue?

but what makes me excited is that Karen Elson is in this issue. :) so can't wait to see her ed. curious to see what has Grace come up this time. :D

thanks Luxx! :)

@Luxx

Are the cover subjects featured on anything other than the group shot?
Is there any Daniel Day-Lewis at all? :ninja:

Thank you so much for the review, Luxx. Well, I guess I'm going to have to get used to the fact that Kloss is the new Trentini.

Sadly no, it is just the cover picture, the inner picture that was posted up thread and a couple of small behind the scenes pictures in the Letter to the editor or Contributor pages - I forget which at the moment but those pictures were nicer than the cover albeit teeny.

There is a small picture of Daniel in the article but I believe it is just one of the stills from 9. Oh what I would have given for him to be a part of this! Such a beautiful man. Sigh.
