US Vogue September 2006 : Kirsten Dunst by Annie Leibovitz

I don't like the cover, it's overdone and I dislike anything by Leibovitz :(

don't quite like how the text gives a squishy look to the cover. vogue should learn that less is more lol

:lol: :lol: :lol: This is soo funny! The last issue was all about how "the new models lack personality and staying power, oh it's such a mystery" - and now this model selection. Gosh, talk about hypocrasy. Who do they think has the power to make new big models? :lol:

:angry: huh!! ALready......the issue is out, I `m glad to see the actual cover (Kristen Dunst) and some of the fashion eds....but I cringed at the fact that u could get this magazine way before its release date. I don`t understand why...US Vogue waits until the 2 or 3 week of the month to release it on newstands and later send it though mail for all the subscribers :angry: when they already have the complete issue DONE....the frustation....:yuk:

The cover is okay, I like the background and the choice of font color. I do agree with all of u guys.....all the texts on the cover is killing it!!

In my opinion..... in order to become a `BIG MODEL` or a `well-known Model` in the fashion/modeling industry, the models of today really need to get a comestic contract with a big comestic company e.g. LIYA KEDEBE w/ Estee Lauder made her into a `sub-Supermodel` and that contract made her status more elite within the modeling world.

i seriously don't like the cover, it looks a bit .....em, wrong? i'd have prefered to see some fall/winter fashion on the cover, this just doesn't really look inspirational enough for a sept. cover. it would be more suitable for a cinema magazine (promoting the movie), not a fashion mag, imo.....

That's friggin disgusting how there's evidence of Sept. issue and

I haven't even received my Aug. issue. I've paid for renewal about a month ago, and still no show. And I HATE THE FACT I GET MY ISSUES two weeks after they show up on newsstands. JUST BECAUSE I'M SAVING 90% OVER THE COVER PRICE DOESN'T MEAN I'M A SECOND RATE CITIZEN. I AM NOT AN ANIMAL!!!!!

Liberty, you're right... It would be perfect for movie magazine, but I love it anyway :smile:

and the ed seems to be ok!

Luving the cover....I knew it is going to be the Marie-Antoinette. Can't wait to get a copy and see the movie!!

But why pink? Thought Marie-Antoinette's favorite color was blue.

:heart:

Um...is this even out in stores yet?

Apparently so, according to Preahya.
The cover is nice and everything but there is so much text, it sort of spoils it for me.

I totally agree. Fine if they have to put Kirsten on the cover at least come up with an interesting cover with her wearing some exciting fall designs. Instead of this cloying self-serving cover. Even if it's just in character, I have a hard time looking at Kirsten Dunst in that regal pose :doh: :sick: ugh!!!

I love the cover(minus the ridiculous words all over it of course),but i agree with liberty.i tohght kirsten would b better on october cover ,and then september will be all about fall fashion,thats why i prefer uk's vogue this month better.it's kate in a suit,b/w,simple perfection.

it's a "nice" cover...
you can tell it's annie leibovitz...
i kinda wish they would have saved this for october, but oh well...:P

i wonder if caroline trentini has an ed...:innocent:

So do I :innocent: :lol: I'm not impressed with the cover because:

a) it's september, so it should be fashion (and models) month;
b) they should have kept it for october because it'd come out in september just as september comes out in august;
c) the cover looks more like a still from the movie than a photoshoot. That's a pity. Vogue US should go with Corinne Day to shot the cool youngs actresses (like last october's Vogue UK with Natalie Portman. That was gorgeous.

do you live in the US, or Europe?

I'm not amazed by the cover, but I don't get why so many people think this was a bad cover choice. Marie Antoinette is a HUGE fashion movie, so it makes sense.
