Valentino Resort 2009

honestly, i like it. and for the people who want "grandeur": it's a mid-season collection.

I ADORE THIS WOMAN!!!
she is doing everything look so delicate, so quiet... but it glows beautifully!
i had never liked valentino this much! the new valentino woman may not be all about glamour and grandeur... but she sure is elegant, distinct and aristocratic. perfect combo!

Here is the other pieces from the collection:

I personally this this is really beautiful. I am really happy with the direction Alessandra is taking Valentino. I like seeing Valentino younger and fresher!

I love what Alessandra is doing for Valentino. It's a similar aesthetic without being copycat, but I totally agree with Luxx in that her style is just so much more understated. It's just downright pretty and wearable and one of my favorite resort collections so far.

I'm kind of digging the knee length skirts with the folded ruffle down the side, especially the brown one.

It's a nice way to do something sort of "pretty" without it being a cliche.

Actually after looking at her collection , its similar to pilati but its better, in the sense , there is a softness and understated femininity , the sort of late 70s style skirt suits capture that . I dont like her pants but , she is 1000X better than what frida is doing with gucci

When Alessandra's first collection for Valentino came out I was all set to be disappointed.....needless to say I was not. I'm the biggest Valentino fan,but I'm now also a huge Alessandra fan..... and it is a resort collection, is has to be a little more tame.....

I like it a lot. Alessandra Facchinetti is really great successor of Valentino Garavani. She still takes form his heritage but mix everything in new way. Really great job.

I love Alessandra's subtle collections. She adds some shyness and modesty to it, and it's just a beautiful show. It's very romantic, I have a feeling that too many words can kill it. So fragile

Beautiful collection  I love light colours, soft shapes and feminine look - very subtle. I'm quite excited about Alessandra's spring collection!

This is quite restrained for a Valentino collection.

honestly, one of the main reasons why i want her to suceed is so the Gucci bosses can see what a loss they made when they replaced Alessandra for Frida  (Frida sucks so hard!)

^^yes, BUT frida is doing some amazing work with the menswear!! (i want it very badly)

more and more looks come out, and i keep loving this more and more!

Agree ... Valentino was barely an option for me before, but I was really impressed by both fall & this collection, so lovely  Maybe this will become a go-to source ...

PS Reminds me a tiny bit of Rochas, but without the darkness ...

I esp love how she did a modern twist and had her style printed on it ... like playing with the volume of the ruffles and having a quiet feminine palette ... I think this is the best of the resort collections ... very demi-couturish, if you ask me
