Vanity Fair December 2017 : Jennifer Lopez & Alex Rodriguez by Mario Testino

Yikes no and who is that Ken? Besides the incontestable fact she's a beautiful woman, her music is ridiculous, she must have polished off at least ten years of feminism when she decide to scrape the barrel in her butt off with Iggy Azalea, and she's a terrible actress, her enduring appeal is mystifying to me.

who would like to see a Trump piss tape???
lol I would, just to triple make sure... though I would settle with just knowing it got out.

that editorial.. just casually ditching your Mercedes and going for a walk rocking your 2000 sunglasses.. and don't get me started on the dude lifting her dress and the matching panties, and the just out of the shower shot. There was something nice about that pre-reality show era of aspirational telenovela lifestyle..

While J.Lo goes through relationships faster than Trump firing out a new tweet I will say this cover is nice. Something about this couple seems like a PR stunt, superficial even. But oh well! My only gripe is that his hair seems more glossy & moisturized then hers... her's looks a little dry.

Alex looks so out of place in this... It's like he is trying hard to fit in the fabulous and glamorous world of JLO.

JLO is JLO...High octane glamour. She looks great.
One thing that i love about her more than any other celebrity is her genuine love for fashion and glamour. It may not be everybody's taste and sometimes, it's bordeline tacky but, it's always glamorous...almost in the most cliché way.

It's funny, even the designers in the ed are very Jlo: Tom Ford, Valentino...Etc.

Your comment is not only sexist it is off based. Funny how the woman on the cover who has two tv shows, a Las Vegas residency, an upcoming live presentation of Bye Bye Birdie, a new Spanish album, a shoe collab, just raised millions of dollars for disaster relief and is currently filming a movie is "only known for who she dates" but the man beside her who is literally only relevant because of her at this moment gets a pass. Jlo is like the new Cher, she's gonna keep on keeping on one reinvention after the next.

Truly I did not mean to offend, so I apologize.
But calling me sexist is way over the top.
I did not give 'the man beside her who is literally only relevant because of her at this moment' a pass. I clearly stated he was the 'washed up remnants of the Biogenesis scandal' ( ie a steroid junkie who accelerated the end of his own baseball career with his own hubris and stupidity).
Perhaps I should have stated that more clearly.
However, none of that satisfies the question why VF would feature her ( not for all her accomplishments you listed in mind), but in a couples feature complete with creepy A-Rod hiking up her skirt?
She does all the work you mention and this is how VF gives her to us?!

The shot of him hiking up her skirt is very Testino, I assumed everyone here would instantly pick up on that. But I suppose in the current cultural state it was bound to ruffle some feathers, coupled of course with the stereotypical way VF depict their women.

^^
She is in control of her sexuality and she doesn't look like a victim of his action...Why would it be controversial?
I know everything is controversy-worthy today but sincerely, i would never condemn a woman who wants to be "depict" a certain way.

I love JLo. I love that's she's a hopeless romantic and not ashamed of it. I love that she's seems so open and nonchalant about her personal life. I love her hard work ethic and ambition. But most of all I love that in the years and all the interviews she has not once every said something shady or negative about anyone. She's a very positive person and I'm convinced that's the secret to her eternal youth. There's a lot of woman her age in Hollywood with the same access to the same "people" but no one looks like Jlo.

I mean, I love JLo and I agree with all of your first points - but she's definitely had her shady moments. haha. This interview comes to mind: http://movieline.com/1998/02/01/the-wow-jennifer-lopez/

Well, lol, as much as I adore her I wouldn't say that. She ran her mouth at the start of her career about Madonna, Goop, Winona, Cameron, and of course Salma. I don't blame her though, based on my magazine collection this clique just about doninated 1998:

But I agree with you re everything else. She's got the perfect amount of ambition , perseverance, and humility. And she always knew her worth and fought for what she should be earning.
The Oliver Stone candid bits in that article is a little cringey though.

I'm getting strong Jenny from the Block vibes with that Valentino shot.

Oh. hahaha. I didn't see your comment when I posted mine.

Great minds ... ;)

JLo's enduring appeal is that she's an absolute WORKHORSE. No matter what you think of her, whether you like her music or her films (or fragrances, tv shows, fashion contracts, red carpet style, etc etc etc) there's no denying that she is a BOSS who has gotten to where she is today because she worked her *** off for it and hustled every day. I have a ton of respect for her.

Also she's never messy. I love that.
