Vanity Fair 'The Hollywood Issue' 2018 by Annie Leilbovitz

imo the cover is ok, same old same old Hollywood issue but the layout is terrible. It´s a nice selection of tv, movie, fandom personalities. Jessica is my favorite.
Am I the only one who would have loved to see Nicole in that red gown, giving Moulin Rouge vibes?

I wonder what it is Nicole is leaning on. Definitely not Oprah's leg.

On the chair. They were shot separately but they had stand-ins wearing the same clothes as the celebs, judging from the backstage pics on their site.

Once you notice Reese's third leg on the cover, you'll never be able to unsee it...even if it is just a weird shadow on the dress (please say it is!)

Although if this picture of Oprah with a third hand is anything to go by, I would say Reese has also fallen victim to some shoddy Photoshopping.

^I don’t see Oprah’s third hand.

What? Look at Reese's waist, her third hand is there. My god, Annie is such a disgrace!! Even her behind the scenes photos are so badly done!
I just spotted it. Can’t unsee it now. It is indeed a disgrace!

Lol at the third hand and leg. Why would you photoshop a backstage pic???

I see Oprah's third hand - who knew she was one of those many-armed goddesses? - but I don't see Reece's third leg, I just see someone sitting awkwardly on what looks like a wooden box?

I want to like this - but it's just so poorly executed I can't get on board.

Reese's 3rd leg on the cover. Nicole looking like Naomi Watts. The way they did Oprah wrong with the makeup and lighting. The photoshop being so evident and poorly done.

I'm sure it'll be a good read and I'll probably pick it up for that. But the cover is just bad.

Also - Oprah's 3rd pic in the "backstage candid pic" is just ridiculous. This is a top-tier publication and an iconic photographer. DO BETTER, PEOPLE!

^ Exactly! For crying out loud, she is not new at this! Hire better retouchers then! Looking at the cover in HQ, it's all so shoddy, even Gals feet, you can see the copy & paste job, smh!! And i really hate the styling, apart from Jessica, all dresses photographed badly!

Wow, has it always been like this? That they've shot everyone separately or in small groups? I just dont't get the point!

Isn't the whole appeal of these pictures? That they managed to get all these people in one room together.

It depends on the year and people's schedules I guess. I've seen footage of years where all the people were shot together (2012 for example) but I think most are shot seperately. The iconic 2001 was shot in London, New York and LA and the set had to be recreated three times.

Love DeNiro’s face and pose. So classy.

Is Jessica happy with this cover or she is going to take it to Twitter/insta? I like the color scheme but I don’t get the odd mix of people. Doesn’t translate to me.

I like the cover, but the lack of photoshop on certain celebs got them looking rough

So brave of VF to include a three-legged actress on the cover

According to multiple sources familiar with the shoot, James Franco sat for a photo shoot and interview and was to be featured in the magazine's Annie Leibovitz-shot portfolio. He was removed from the cover digitally, however, due to allegations of sexual misconduct that surfaced in the wake of his Golden Globe win for The Disaster Artist. Subjects for the Vanity Fair cover are often photographed separately in small groups and combined via digital imaging — Franco's removal, then, did not require a reshoot. That said, it's highly unusual for a star to be removed from an elaborate photo layout, especially so close to publication.

James Franco being edited out explains why a person is clearly missing on the third foldout page. He was probably laying in front of Gal.
