Veronica Leoni - Designer, Creative Director of Calvin Klein

Intriguing, let's see. Looks like she wants to go back to their 90s visual aesthetic perhaps?

yes but this is hard to pull of now in the context of where the world is now and how commercial the brand is and already The Row and Lemaire are playing with this more successfully as they aim for a ideal sophisticated discreet client type

Calvin is far from this now. the approach is wrong already & wrong hire of CD

I think it’s safe to say Calvin Klein is on the same level as Hugo boss these days.

I’m always hoping for a good show, because the brand and its heritage have some weight. But I find this whole collection branding so far fetched. Having it as an isolated word on a bag is almost ironic on the level of vetements

Don’t do that. If Hugo Boss was given a good CD the general idea would be that they’re wasting their talents.
With CK, the brand holds so much of a spot in American fashion that people actually want and care about getting a good runway collection. This might be the most discussed thing to come out of NYFW and it hasn’t even shown yet.

I wonder how they will price this collection. I don't think the objective is to sell anything - it's probably just for image-making, to create ideas that percolate down to the secondary lines and licenses, and to create buzz around the brand again. Which probably means that it will be priced close to say, The Row. It would be a real shame, if the clothes are actually good.

Veronica Leoni presents her début collection for women and men under the relaunched Calvin Klein Collection label.

The clothes utilize the Calvin Klein branding from his 70's ready-to-wear collections and will come with a seasonal Collection tag. The open question looming large over the brand is –can anyone convince the wealthy to spend premier prices on a garment with a Calvin Klein label?

Where’s the “sexitude” in these images? I’ve had sexier cups of tea!

i dunno you guys to me its giving phoebe circa 2016 and JS circa meiers lol....im all for storytelling but what is this exactly? only hardcore fans would want to buy this. a random customer with dollasss would go for The Row / Khaite / Jil Sander :furious:

It sounds like a BOSS 2.0 to me. It will be interesting to see how it handles the silhouettes for men and women and how it intends to combine formality with sportswear. If it is very elegant it will be a copy of Michael Kors, if it is very casual, it will become another DKNY.

So that we can have the thread started by the horrible blue box instead.
One is runway coverage, the other isn’t - once the official photos are uploaded, they’ll be attached to the top of the first post...

She should have renamed this line like "The Collection" with very tiny font under it "from Calvin Klein" which will sound more like a competitor of The Row as Collection Calvin Klein is still like living in the shadow of Franciaco Costa!
