Testino doesn't deserve all the money he charges. Christopher Bailey recently said that he sees no problem paying Testino's fees since creativity has to be nurtured -or something to that effect.

I apologize, but what is so creative about shooting Lily Donaldson and some other Brits in a British greenhouse or farm, or Kate and Gisele in front of the ocean? I love Testino, but his vision and staging are getting more and more mundane by the second. The amount of money and attention M&M, Klein or Meisel, spend on staging alone speaks volumes in comparison to Testino's last efforts.

One would think Donatella would turn up the sex in advertising since this season, more than ever, you need to create a spectacle to increase desirability and sell clothes. And the collection was really sexy. Gorgeous ads and a healthy dose of sex would be beneficial, and Testino could do it. Hopefully we'll see something close, but I will not hold my breath.

I was thinking a Disco theme or Nightclub theme, but this is so bland and reminiscent of the ss08 ones, just new clothes.

Also pasha gotta agree with you lately Testino campaign work for a number of different brands has become boring and very stale and we all know he can do a helluva lot better Maybe this pic is really nothing to do with the ultimate look of the campaign but right now I ain't holding my breath that the final outcome with be anything special.....but we can live in hope.

I think i'm rating this with a 1 or 2.

and for the ones that are saying maybe is only a making-of, i say: no, Vanity Fair usually puts previews of the campaign (see last season with Blumarine and Max Mara).
so 99% that's a part of the campaign. veeeeeery boring but that's just one picture

About this ads are same to SS08 but say Testino no have creativite is stupid and M&M have attention yes but yur style is always the same and meisel have great campaing inclusive Versace and other are soo cheap and ugly remember one with Amber valletta & bruno santos, or cristina aguilera some examples

His 'range' is about as diverse as a Prada runway casting! (note the sarcasm)

Lately he has been shooting the same campaign again and again for both Versace and Burberry. That is not really creativity. Meisel at least stretches a muscle every once in a while. I am the biggest Testino fan in the world, but even I cannot stand to look at his shallow images anymore.

Yes i gree about the campaing is repet, is safe but do you no think maybe Donatella need this maybe is she like, about Burberry from 1998 have exelents campaing other yes repetitives and i lovee Testino and im very critic about you work, maybe lost the sexy need back to the 90' but change the style not M&M no have style is a copy fro diferents photographer and this is true and i like M&M i hope the other shots of the Versace capaings are better

Can you really blame people? And I don't think it's just Meisel fanatics who are complaining. It's just people who feel the work he did for Versace was better. It speaks for itself.

I don't think you need to be a Meisel fan to see that his ads were considerably more interesting and unpredictable than Testino's have been.
