Versace S/S 2018 by Steven Meisel

I want Raquel

PD: By far, Naomi, Gisele and Christy are the stars here

THE VERSACE SPRING SUMMER 2018 CAMPAIGN - A NEW SCHOOL TAKE ON A FAMILY TRADITION

Through the years, every Versace image has always told a story. Usually a story of individuality, of character, of the strength to do things differently. Spanning across four influential decades, the broader Versace family (not just of Donatella and her brother Gianni, but of their favoured photographers and supermodels alike) have shaped fashion as we know it. And now, this “super-family” returns to mark the beginning of the 40th anniversary of the fashion house.
Conceived by Artistic Director Donatella Versace and shot by legendary collaborator Steven Meisel, the Versace Spring Summer 2018 Campaign portrays - together for the first time in decades - some of the most iconic forces in fashion along with today’s hottest talent, in individual portraits capturing their unique personalities. Each image is pure energy. Each shot complements the other. Every pose brings out the model’s true character in a series of images that give voice in a new age to the same Versace principles that have resonated down the decades: creativity, empowerment, inclusivity, and that inimitable Versace sense of daring.
Gianni’s most beloved prints and boldest looks, updated for a modern age in Donatella's Tribute Collection, are seen both on models who walked down the runway in his original designs, and on those who grew up aspiring to be like them. A celebration of beauty that has no age limit, no fear, no restraint.
The supercast is led by Naomi Campbell and Christy Turlington, together with Gisele Bündchen, Irina Shayk, Raquel Zimmerman, Natalia Vodianova, Gigi Hadid, Vittoria Ceretti, Kaia Gerber, Cara Taylor, Birgit Kos, Grace Elizabeth and Noah Luis Brown.
“This campaign represents the link between past and present. You need to know who you are, and where you are coming from, to build your future. And when you are at the head of a brand with such a strong heritage as mine, you can only embrace it. This is the reason why I wanted to see this iconic super model cast next to the soon-to-be-iconic girls of the future.” – Donatella Versace

Correction: "This is the reason why I wanted to see this iconic super model cast next to the soon-to-be-iconic girls of the future, and some random guy.” – Donatella Versace

 ^ that ''random guy'' is one of Meisel's newest favorites, so that explains why he's in the campaign.
I love Noah. Can't wait to see the full campaign.

So this campaign portrays traditional Versace glamazons... and a big toddler?

Google Translate from Italian:

The spring summer 2018 fashion show was beautiful and brought Gianni Versace's muses to the catwalk, now we continue with the testimonials, Gisele Bundchen, Kaia Gerber and Naomi Campbell, as well as Christy Turlington, Natalia Vodianova, Raquel Zimmermann , Irina Shayk, Gigi Hadid, Vittoria Ceretti, Cara Taylor, Birgit Kos and Grace Elizabeth that we will see when Versace will release the new photos of advertising.

Admiring the new images upon returning to the thread, and cannot stress enough how much I'm here for this. The eyewear shot of Christy Turlington is superb (but thought it was Vittoria Ceretti at first). Versace just need to release the entire campaign now, because I'm eager to see how everyone else fits into this and I'm becoming increasingly impatient...

and I'm becoming increasingly impatient...

Exactly. What's the point of releasing some previews and then wait a few days to release the whole campaign. The day is almost over as well.

Not a fan of the guy's shot. Don't know what Meisel sees in him in the first place.

I like the movement, butI don't like the jewelry. It looks very bling bling and over the top.

Does the boy shot mean they're steering away from Russian Oligarchs to Urban street? Had Tisci a say in this or something?

The men’s campaign pretty much sums up how uneventful male models are in the industry. I don’t like the twinkly twink for Versace. They could have used the models like Sean O’pry, Matthew Terry, Paola Anchisi etc.

Noah is great but I am not a fan of the styling in his shot.
Seems like they're giving the "next generation" models (though we've only seen Kaia and Noah) those pastel looks?

So this campaign portrays traditional Versace glamazons... and a big toddler?

You couldn't have put it any better! What does this guy have to do with anything. Male models, especiqlly the ones with nothing going for them in the looks dept like this one, always ruin everything.

Is that really the key look for the Versace man next summer? Crikey!

Unfortunately yes :(

Ahahaha ditto

He looks... yeah I won´t even comment, he does not even look ``average good´´ so what´s the point of having him in the campaign?? The pose, his looks. I see nothing Versace-esque on him, with the pool of soooooo many good top male models they came up with him??? WTH

smh @ this Noah's hate. :rolleye: The guy is amazing.

I think he's a good model and I love his look, BUT I do agree his shot is awful... I can't believe Meisel shot that. What were they thinking? It looks so cheap.

I honestly thought he would be naked or wearing some underwear, posing as a accessory for the girls.

I see they've casted the brother of Olivier Rousteing, totally unnecessary.
Overall very dated but such a great vibe with great models.
