Victoria Beckham is writing a book on fashion!

Babe was timeless elegant where Victoria is far from it. Her parents live not far from me so I have seen her a fair few times and to be honest elegant is a word I would not use for her.

However Tilda Swinton is a fine choice to play Babe. Tilda is a woman I would describe as elegant she wears clothes the clothes do not wear her.

You see to me Victoria has the same timless ladylike style like Babe Paley or Barbara Hutton and others had ofcourse with a modern twiste to it!You really think Tilda will be good?I just cant imagine her in this role maybe because she always plays wirde roles. But thats probably why she will be good at it.I would like Cate Blanchet to play her!

IMO - She tends to kill a trend, like the waistcoats, the pencil skirts and those dreadful gypsy skirts.

Cate Blancett is a very good example of timeless chic. You can tell that she just has the natural touch with glamour. Put Cate next to Victoria there is no contest Cate is by far the most elegant.

She killed the pencil&gypsy skirts trends?Since when, where do you live!If anything she helped those trends.Last summer after she wore gypsy skirts women got insane and wore them like crazy. As for the pencil skirt i think its timless and you cant kill it!Anyway she is not a trendsetter like Kate or Sienna she wears clothes that are timless and ladylike!I also think you cant compare Cate and Victoria because they are two completly diffrent women and i mentioned Cate in a hole diffrent context!

Ok i have a news that will really make Celinechic and taprejeangirl happy-JUST KIDDING!

Its for all other people who are geniunly interested about the book! That Extra Half an Inch is now available for pre-order at amazon. It will be released on Septembre 28,2006.Hardcover with 224 pages will cost 13.20 if you pre-order it,regular price will be 20.00 pounds!

I think both prices are reasnoble specially the pre-order price i expected the book to be really expensive but what do you Celinechic or taperjeansgirl think(JUST KIDDING)again!

Since you asked...

I think her book will be unsuccessful... much like everything else she has done after the Spice Girls. ^_^

Nicholas Ghesquiere and Oliver Theyskens can't be there, nor can Alber Elbaz.

Please tell me it's not true, they seem so opposite to her...

If they are there, one thing's for certain, they'll be trash to me after that, no matter how splendid a collection they may design.

Gypsy skirts sold out because of Victoria - Erm corrrect me if I am wrong but people were following Sienna Miller in the Boho phase. Victoria was seen in the skirts as the phase was dying out! As for "The Lady" look the Galaxy had been seen on numerous others before her. What I mean by overkill is once she latches on to a trend (which lets face it style is not about wearing a trend head to foot) she overkills it by wearing it to death.

As for the book, it is hardly likely to be a best seller. Emil I am not crying over the fact that the book is being published. I have made my own opinion that Victoria Beckham is hardly of elegance or *natural* style to be involved in what sounded like it could have been a good book.

You see you are just critisazing now without even knowing anything about the subject because if you would you would know her jeans are no 1 in Europe and are doing really good in Us aswell.Actually they were sold out in two days in Sweden,Germany and Japan!Thats pretty succesful to me!But i agree with you that the book wont be as succeful.i think that whole project involving this book will be hard to sell!

They will be trash for you after Victoria interviews them!!!What has that to do with their collection!!!Is that what fashion is about for you and the standard by wich you value it-now that is the most strange(putting it kindly) comment i read!!

Yes - they would be - because they are relating themselves to her. I value integrity in fashion. I dmire and purchase pieces from collections not only because of the collection itself, but also because of the designer behind the collection, and because of his/her thought process and ideology. If they begin to prance around people like Victoria Beckham, I then realize that they are not designing with much thought - but design with pure, complete, and unadultered superficiality, and nothing but.

Again, I value integrity in fashion.

If they suddenly begin to sell an enormous quantity of cheap, ugly goods with their names on it to be sold at Wal-mart, Eckerd, and Dillard's - it would be the same to me.

I really can't believe I am going to say this but I agree with Emil :D Alber Elbaz and Nicolas Ghesquire are hardly going to produce second rate clothes just through being in contact with Victoria Beckham.

I never said that they would, I only stated that it would be the same thing to me. It would "cheapen" their name, they would "cheapen" their name by willingly putting themselves on that book created by VB.

That is your opinion and that is fine. But if Lanvin were to produce the finest collection next season would V.B still be in your mind. Bear in mind it was only an interview, which lets face it she probably didn't even write the questions!

It won't be so bad if VB doesn't write the interviews and is just a fashion book that just popped in her head and let everybody do the rest. I hope she doesn't. If she has a high involvement, however, yes - it would still be on my mind.

Do you think that she should even be involved in fashion? And to think it's only because she was once a Spice Girl!

Imagine it were JoJo doing the interview - Same thing! What would you then think if NG allowingly agreed to be put in her book?

Well it could have been worse ..... Geri Halliwell aka Ginger could have done the interviews!

Actually Arturo as i have stressed in my previous posts no I do not think she has a link to fashion the fact that she wears head to toe designer labels has somehow got her a "style icon" tag. I have also said that style is something you can not buy or be given it is something you learn. A girl/guy can wear head to toe Wal Mart/Tescos and be more stylish then somebody who wears head to toe Versace or Cavalli.

Just imagine Elbazs' face when he saw her come into the room :D

How does she get her face to looks so shiny and plastic-like?

It's kind of gross but my morbid fascination makes me stare and wonder.

I've never heard that. I'll believe it when I read it from a valid source... not one that she has bribed to say that.

I agree with you in all points stated above, my opinion was only launched and based upon the fact that she believes herself to be a style icon (others agree :ninja:). Therefore, I can not possibly see how these amazing, respectable designers can even mingle with her as she's only - forgive me, a label wh*re.
