VS are incredibly savvy when it comes to marketing, and having models like Tyra and Heidi (who are household names) allows them to appeal to a much broader demographic. Becuase of their accessibility, and their age. There's no way the majority of people would know someone like Ana BB, despite how beautiful she is or how well she does on the runway and in editorials. Even someone as successful as Gemma Ward (in the past couple of years) is not yet well known outside the fashion world. People know the girls = people tune in = people remember why they love VS = people hot-foot it to the stores = tills go ching ching
Secondly, I think Tyra looked pretty good! Ok, not as slender as in the past, but I believe that the VS show is a lot about the attitude of the model and the fun they're having, and she has both in spades. That's not to say they shouldn't have good bodies too - I would kill to look that good in underwear. In fact, I'd gladly swap bodies with her, even if it meant the rather drastic change from 25 year old 5'3" chunky Irish girl with short legs to Amazonian african-american woman! I can imagine the looks I'd get in work on Monday morning....

I agree even if VS is a little cheesy it is affordable and it doesn't take itself to seriously...
It also puts the best looking women prolly in the world in their shows so yay for VS!

No matter how bad Heidi and Tyra looks, they still look better than most of the female population.

^^ yes, and they are worth more $$$ than the rest of the girls combined.
Not to add more fuel to the fire, but I think it's commendable that Tyra isn't a size 2 and is working that runway! She's not considered plus size, but I think we have all seen too to many 5'11 120lb girls to appreciate someone that doesn't have those specific requirements. As for Heidi, give the woman a break...she just had a baby...how many women, look like that only six weeks after giving birth?

I think Tyra looks great. She is at a larger size than most of the other girls but she's still proportionate and curvaceous. I think that the Victoria's Secret lingerie tends to look better on girls with a bit more ooomph; larger breasts, hips, bit of a booty and so on. I'm not sure if someone like a Gemma (who I love) would be as good for Victoria's Secret. I think the ideal Victoria's secret girl has a body closer to that of a swimsuit model than a high fashion model. Even my fave Bianca who really works it on the runway is perhaps a tad too thin IMO for Victoria's Secret. I just have this image of VS, perhaps a holdover from the Stephanie Seymor, Angie Everhart days, I feel their models should be a bit more voloptuous than the high fashion girls.
I think Tyra looks great though especially for someone who hasn't spent the past few months modeling. Hasn't she been focused solely on Top Model and her talk show of late? As for Heidi I think she's a revelation, I never used to enjoy her as a model but her bubbly persona won me over. And for someone who literally JUST gave birth her body is astounding.
All the girls look great though. Especially Isabeli, Alsessandra, Karolina and Gisele. I was also blown away by Eugenia. I never would have thought of her for VS but she looked amazing.
