Hi everyone,
I had about 40 to 50 photos that I collected from 1981-2003 before I got rid of them. Last August, I decided to reconstitute this collection on my computer (as well as add new photos) and also share it with others (the subject is women wearing bold bracelets, which is a pretty unique topic). I've recovered maybe 70% of what I had - of my very favorites, there is only one that I haven't found - and am asking about here. The best I can do is give a description of the photo and hope someone remembers it.
To make a very long story short, about a month ago I finally realized that the photo almost certainly came from Elle UK. I believe this would have been from January through July between 1989-1992.
The problem for me is that it's not that realistic for me to fly to the UK and look through all of these issues in one of the few libraries that have these back issues. Alternatively, I have gotten scans (from the British Library in London) of the Table of Contents for 20 of the 28 months I've mentioned above (because I think I will be able to recognize the fashion editorial that way and then request a scan of the editorial itself.
Unfortunately, I just looked through these 20 and nothing looks familiar (it's also not totally guaranteed I'll recognize anything this way).
It's possible the photo may even have been posted in this thread in the past but most of those links are broken so that's not helping either.
Anyway...
The model (Rachel Williams is my best guess but could easily be wrong) had less than shoulder-length dirty to light blond hair. I believe she was sitting on a beach or sand dune, with her feet a little lower than the rest of her body and her arms maybe resting in her lap, on her knees or between her legs. She was wearing I guess what would be called a white peasant blouse/dress (I think it laced-up in the upper part). With either sandals or bare feet.
But, the most noticeable part - she is wearing maybe 20 white and silver bangles on each arm. Maybe that will ring a bell with someone.
Does anyone have or remember this? I think there was some kind of vacation or bohemian theme in this editorial...
