Aside from the fact it's Gemma Ward back on the cover of Australian Vogue, I'm struggling to find a single redeeming quality from the whole entire outcome. There's nothing remotely creative about the cover, and I severely dislike both the beauty and fashion styling. A total miss, for me.

The tragedy is that they've commissioned a colourist specifically for the dye. I actually think the dye job is what ruins everything. Well the fashion styling too, but mainly the dye job. Especially with the tan. But overall it's a throwaway shoot that should've been kept for a quiet month or not published at all (yes, that's what I said. Betrando, lol).
I rather like the Lena C. Emery shoot. It's understated, but it's very classic. Love the shot of Zinnia in the halter.

So Edwina waxed lyrical over the brilliance of Dr Seuss in er editor's letter. I'm sure if she knew how controversial it would become she'd have decided otherwise, lol.

I couldn’t agree more! the styling is like a 1st Year St Martin’s project mess and those colourful distracting garish rags... distracting.
it’s like the cheap setting of a leftover circus fair.

Most people are able to achieve this particular colour from box dye bought at the supermarket, so a colour specialist was a total waste of money. I've also seen supermarket products give more volume to hair. A tragedy indeed!

You would also think by now, with Harper's Bazaar Australia (unfortunately) out the picture, the team at Vogue Australia would insist on upping the ante with the fashion photography.

^They've very clearly gobbled up much of the luxury advertising as well, which is obviously easier now that Elle, InStyle, and Harper's Bazaar are out of the picture. Page count is the same as US Vogue's March issue - there's a whopping 36 pages before you reach the table of contents. This is unheard of for Vogue Australia even pre-pandemic.

Here's hoping Edwina will step it up in the coming months!

This feel too indie for Vogue. This could pass as i-D or Dazed. Not good, quite mediocre issue. Gemma ed can be good but it was ruined by that hair color and those cheap fabrics as background. "Rise up" should be photograph by Annie Leibovitz, only she can bring out the best in theater cast. "Leading light" is try to be M magazine but fail miserably, it just doesn't have that "magic" that make the clothes desirable. That Prada advertorial is as bad as the collection. "Shape Shifter" is good, too bad it's only 2 pages.

Edwina, girl it's time to go. The passion has run dry.
