Vogue Australia October 2010 : Codie Young by Nicole Bentley

Im a sucker for the miu miu collection and the floral backround but i do think the model looks a little bit like a creepy doll. Love Lace Value, completely gorgeous dresses and setting:heart:

Beautiful photography and I like the cover. But the editorial.....i have to agree that there really is no depth to the models at all. Don't get me wrong, they both look very pretty, but a little too wide-eyed, blank expressioned and dumb (which irritates me the more I look at it). I hope Codie and Rosemary learn to get some expression and bring their future photos to life. That to me really makes a great, timeless model.

^what!?! That's now basically at the same price range as Vogue Paris, UK, US etc.

Oh, those "bonuses"! Spanish magazines always give them away for free but Portugese magazines make you pay for them as well.

Lace Value is a terrible editorial mainly because the models can't convey any feelings at all. I happen to like Back to Reality. Although a simple studio shot, it is very nice.

I somehow agree with your former statement.. As much as I want Codie to make it big (and I truly do), she hasn't shown a great range of expressions so far, and what makes her special lies in her eerie features, not in her ability to emote.

The cover and the edit are both purely beautiful. Very whimsical.

Vogue Australia is just copying what US Vogue did a while back with models and their boyfriends. Australia's is no where as good as the US Vogue version, I don't even know half these model, they are over rated (looking at you Jessica, Nicole and Elyse :))

Lace Value has got to be one of the best Vogue Australia has done so far!

I honestly can't find the words to describe how obnoxious I find Lace Value and Codie Young to be. I can't remember a model has just generally bothered me this much, for no reason.

The character of Lace Value reminds me slightly of Lily Allen's music video for The Fear. It's almost like drowning in luxury and perfection, and makes you appreciate the plainer things. I like it.

it's eerily beautiful. she looks as though she's been caught up in the flowers and preserved, like a dead insect or butterfly.

YES! And that's why she looks like a waxworks doll! It is so beautiful though, I love it. It's preternaturally beautiful and in that sense her over-perfection suits it perfectly.
