Vogue España June 2025 : Kaia Gerber by Amy Troost

Aside the cheap/amateurish set design and basic photography style, the whole wet hair look just additionally ruins the whole thing for me.

In other words, this is NOT (any) Vogue cover-story material, it's Zara new collection generic shoot at best.

I wish her well, but I don't find anything about her situation compelling in terms of stardom. People project her mother onto her constantly, it's going to take years for her to come out from under that shadow as her own person.

And being a nepo-baby might offer a shield of sorts in the industry, but even then, modelling may not have been the best thing to happen to her, and she probably can't speak about her experiences too candidly given how enmeshed her family is, in the business of being celebrities, the appearance of success.

A long way down the road, she could write a book about all of this - until then, it's book clubs.

What do u expect? Max Ortega is involved...he is terrible...they needed a good creative director and Ortega only collect clothes...Vogue Spain did much better covers and editorials...even with local talents...

This issue is around 178 pages, at the front there's an outdoors shoot NACÍ EN EL MEDITERRÁNEO, by Guille Sanchez with model Ylang, an accessories edit, an interview with singer Maria Arnal, and in the main fashion section, Kaia's cover story is followed by the "nightlife" reprint from UK Vogue, then there's AL CIEN POR CIEN by Theo de Gueltzl, which is a feature about Fendi with Stella Hanan and Clara Denison, followed by BUEN COLOR by Amy Troost, which is a summer hat editorial, and that's that.

Kaia's low-energy shoot suits the rest of the issue well, because it's all about being languid, or in the case of some of the articles, a "quiet quitting" approach to life.

I am not a Kaia fan and this is not my favorite cover of hers. Troost is also a hit or a miss in terms of photography. However, I do like the majority of the photographs inside. I like how natural and intimate they all look. They are effective as portraits.

I feel like with a different set design it could be pretty good. Cut her out and paste her on a more dramatic setting
