Vogue España September 2013 : Doutzen Kroes by Tom Munro

Doutzen is on fire! BUT the cover lacks impact.

Vogue Spain September 2013: Doutzen Kroes

Vogue Spain September's cover is model Doutzen Kroes.
She looks super glam in a black look.

Just not good enough for September!

The face is stunning, and while the holding of the skirt is a bit weird, it doesn't bother me as much, but then since you have a white background, all that text just feels like an assault!!!!

For the first time in the last years Spanish Vogue gives back its spicy essence with a sense of high fashion. Despite the fact that there is way way too much text (hello Vogue México!) the pose, the styling, the cast work well altogether. Her head is perhaps a bit too thrown back or perhaps it's because the neck is hidden in that top but it's a good cover nonetheless.

^If only...

It was styled by Carlyne Cerf de Dudzeele, so maybe the photographer is Testino. Although this is really cheap even for his recent standards.

The more I see it the more I hate it:

That orange tan. :ninja:
The pose. :yuk:
The styling.
The copy/past (you can tell from the 'magic wand' in the hair, the weird light contrast...).
The text.
Te meaning of the text.
The general cheapness of it. :ermm:

The cover shot and the actual cover itself is the exact opposite of the tagline "IMPACTO".

I'm absolutley loving this - everything about this, love it. I remember when Carlyne posted on Instagram she was shooting with Doutzen, and I wondered what it would be for. I just hope we get an accompanying editorial and I look forward to see what the rest of the issue has to offer. Vogue Spain has become a must-have for me each month.

they need a different type of model for their covers every now and then, seriously  and the cover itself does nothing for me... next!

I was lucky enough to be in Spain for vacation this summer and I bought a couple of Vogue Spain issues and its my favorite international Vogue now. They are doing more than great despite depression.I also loved this cover.I cant wait to buy their september issue.Doutzen looks great in the cover.

That's interesting, I feel the exact opposite. This is really lowbrow for them, it looks like a cover that would be found in the Elle Worldwide thread.

The photographer is Hasse Nielsen.

Really? Why do they go for very cheap and inexperienced photographers for their September issues? It should be the opposite. Last year it was Maciek Kobieski (his second Vogue cover ever) and right now Hasse Nielsen (his first Vogue cover, right?).

It's crazy that out of the 9 covers they have produced this year, they have used 8 different photographers... What a joke.

I don't know why, but after all the disastrous September issues I had my hopes pinned on Vogue España... And it has been the biggest disappointment without any doubt.

I think Doutzen looks great although a bit too orange, but all the glossy's are getting way too carried away with cover text.
