Vogue India October 2007 ( Premier Issue ) by Patrick Demarchelier

an imitation of Vogue China's first issue. I have to say Vogue India is not good

the cover is awful,,,, but i will still buy it because of gemma^_^^_^

This is just like the first issue of vogue china. Two local girls and gemma in the middle.

Yes the concept looks like the Vogue China one, excpet I liked the Vogue China one way more. Less fake airbrushing and the background of Vogue China was way better.

I think it's cool that India now has a Vogue! Times are changing. I really hope the magazine is really colorful and shows the flavor of India!

i'd been looking forward to this for a long time, the cover is a bit of a disappointment though. as many people have said it is very similar to vogue china. still, i hope i can find somewhere in the uk that stocks this, looking forward to picking up a copy.

everyone looks soo extremely airbrushed on the cover....was that really necessary??

Love the cover, its beyond beautiful,i am looking forward to this edition of Vogue.

I believe that there's an ed inside featuring Chanel Iman by Patrick Demarchelier :flower:

^Thanks as always MMA :flower:

I kind of don't understand the message of the cover here, though -- is Gemma's look/complexion something to admire in terms of the readers of VIn? With the Vogue China cover I could see Chinese/Eastern Asians embracing her doll-like look -- heck, Du and Anna Wang were chosen because they even looked similar. But I wasn't aware that the sentiments spread to this demographic (One quite different in terms of physical features, at that) as well. Hmm.

I agree. I feel as though Gemma is a strange choice for this cover. Her look does not work as well for this image as it did for the Vogue China, here she just sticks out like a sore thumb. All the women on the cover are lovely but Gemma simply does not fit.

Oh wow, those two ladies are photoshopped so much to look like gemma, the round face and big mouth baby doll thing. I wish they would have used Aishwarya Rai on the cover, she's so Beautiful. Gemma looks gorgeous none the less, all in all the cover is fairly decent but I wanted more for the premier issue. I mean why not use Ujjwala Raut, she's the one model whose made it big at home and abroad. Aishwarya isn't really a model anymore but she has the whole L'Oreal thing so I thought she would have been an obvious choice, having said that in the end she'll probably have the most covers in the end if Indian Vogue is going to go down the US Vogue Celebrity obsessed route (which it no doubt will).
Um, the girl on the right (Bipasha Basu) won Ford SMotW in 1996...

Suggestion....

Why not change the thread title to: Vogue India Premier Issue October 2007 by Patrick Demarchelier...the way it is now...et al...it's like the Indian women are a nonentity...

Gemma seems very out of place...it doesn't work like it did for Vogue China...
