who is the stylist of the cover and the photographer?
I kind of don't understand the message of the cover here, though -- is Gemma's look/complexion something to admire in terms of the readers of VIn? With the Vogue China cover I could see Chinese/Eastern Asians embracing her doll-like look -- heck, Du and Anna Wang were chosen because they even looked similar. But I wasn't aware that the sentiments spread to this demographic (One quite different in terms of physical features, at that) as well. Hmm.
Um, the girl on the right (Bipasha Basu) won Ford SMotW in 1996...Oh wow, those two ladies are photoshopped so much to look like gemma, the round face and big mouth baby doll thing. I wish they would have used Aishwarya Rai on the cover, she's so Beautiful. Gemma looks gorgeous none the less, all in all the cover is fairly decent but I wanted more for the premier issue. I mean why not use Ujjwala Raut, she's the one model whose made it big at home and abroad. Aishwarya isn't really a model anymore but she has the whole L'Oreal thing so I thought she would have been an obvious choice, having said that in the end she'll probably have the most covers in the end if Indian Vogue is going to go down the US Vogue Celebrity obsessed route (which it no doubt will).
local supermodels MoniKangana Dutta and Laxmi Menon
yes, that's a good point.Suggestion....
Why not change the thread title to: Vogue India Premier Issue October 2007 by Patrick Demarchelier...the way it is now...et al...it's like the Indian women are a nonentity...
