Vogue Netherlands September 2019 : Luna Bijl & Birgit Kos by Carlijn Jacobs

OMG they finally nailed it. Love the retro feel of the duo cover, unfortunately still hate the font and art direction and the masthead should have been behind their faces but props to Carlijn and the team for finally pulling off a great September cover. Possibly the best Sept. cover at this moment. Thank GOD Karin left and took her sh*tty taste with her.

These two are true Dutch Royalty. Rianne and Yasmin are not even close.

Wow these are all amazing I love them!!! When I first saw these on Instagram I thought they were vintage covers and my first thoughts were that I wish covers will still this good and turns out some still can be! Love it! It is everything I wish the big 4 would be and I love Birgit and Luna, two great models

Instantly blown all the other September covers out of the water! These are spot on. The first cover in particular emulates a classic 80s Vogue perfectly - and what a perfect cast to pull it off with.

The covers that we deserve!
This might well be the best September Vogue cover in while!
My memory will treasure it!

Ok, i was very disappointed in magazine covers nowadays, but wow! The first two are amazing.

When i saw the title I knew that it was gonna be awesome. Those two models always deliver and when its 80s styling they excel since they are reminiscent of 80s supermodels.

Birgit is just a stunning model. She’s perfect. She looks stunning in her solo cover. She’s everything a model should be. Her solo cover isn’t the most incredible cover I’ve ever seen - this is no Meisel Vogue Italia, for example - but there’s nothing silly and gimmicky (what a relief) and she looks so magnificent, I can’t complain.

Luna is gorgeous, but I hate to admit there’s something forgettable about her - I never can remember what she looks like, even seconds after seeing a picture of her.

Loove the first cover! Both models look glam. In the past months, I thought Luna was starting to overdo it in her poses, but here, she's back at her game.

I'm here for this duo, two amazing models with pristine print work and the main cover is everything I love: strong, powerful, sexy with commanding presence and in charge of the whole thing.

...Best September issue by far.

The new EIC did well.

But if one’s not a fan of Emmanuelle and her very strict, directional Vogue, then one may not be a fan of this. It’s such an unabashed/unashamed/unapologetic love letter to Emmanuelle and her VP: The retro-vibe, the art direction— down to the exact type that’s become VP’s signature, the layout, the jewelry/accessories features are a direct xerox of VP’s Miss Vogue/Bijoux…

Fortunately for me, Emmanuelle is the best thing happening in Vogue right now— although she doesn’t have any worthy competitors, does she…??? So as much as this is a VP-wannabe, it’s done well by maintaining a very distinct minimalist, sparse Scandinavian-sensibility, that comes off more as a sisterhood camaraderie to VP than as a copycat. The 3 main fashions stories are rather... stunning— The covershot’s Colour Crush, The New Neutrals and Tailoring Tricks, all shot by Carlijn Jacobs. She’s good.

Bugger off! LOL. I'm still keen to see it.

^^^ You’ll love it. And you’ll love Emmanuelle for it...
