Vogue Paris May 2010 : Penélope, Naomi, Gwyneth, Meryl, Julianne & Kate by I&V

This whole ~Natasha::love~ thing ultimately comes down to subjectivity, guys. Some faces just don't work for some people.. c'est la vie.

Having said that, I don't think Natasha is the issue in that story, it's the godawful styling by Emmanuelle who keeps playing with kitsch and irony and everything in between thinking she's smart enough to turn up decent results, this is as bad as that story styled by Carine a few months ago featuring Jac and Lily D. lying in some grey area with lots of trash wrapped around their bodies and greasy skin.. unfortunately that's what the 'VP girl' has come down to, come to think of it, someone vulgar who's convinced her non-existent 'chicness' will make it through every dirty scenario..

Natasha looks gorgeous here, just gorgeous.
Magdalena's editorial is nothing impressing, just very simple shots, I've seen better jewellery eds in VP.

each to their own and all, but i actually like the styling that Emmanuelle has done in this ed, its wearable and any reader could actually take an outfit out of its context and actually wear it, which isn't what alot of magazine's can do ....

Call me defensive, but are you kidding? Natasha is the ultimate model for the whole 'sex on the beach' concept.
Literally blown away at her body in this edit - just phenomenal. Sorrenti is pure genius!
I kinda expected it to have a similar vibe, to her shot in Man About Town, also by Sorrenti.

I'm just saying I don't think Natasha suits that kind of ed. Her body does look really good in certain shots, but I just can't see her as a sexy kind of model for some reason.

As usual, Natasha has done it again. I'm in love with her ed. The perfect model with the perfect summer hot body for a sizzling hot summer editorial. I envy her skin color. :D

i love plage privée, but i agree with everything mulletproof has said, the styling is horrendous.

magdalena's shots blew me away  she's the sensuality embodied, but she still manages to look distinguished, and that seriously impresses me.
natasha's edit also thrills me, i think her body is perfect, and for some reasons, she just fits warm and hot atmospheres. yet i'm not very keen on those sort of vibes, but here it works perfectly, the vivid colors, natasha's fantastic and skillful poses... the third shot is particularly insane, i love the way the shadows embrace her body.
thank yoooooouuuu elsa!

Totally agree about Penélope and Bono's cover, looking something like i-D would produce.
I immediately thought of the Mariacarla/Riccardo Tisci Pre-Spring 2010 cover:

*designscene

that was the cover i thought of, the moment i saw it

Emmanuelle Alt has been playing around with kitsch and street elements in her styling for years. Jeans and sneakers have always dominated her editorial pages. Yes, these banal elements may seem a bit gimmicky at times and certainly out of place as in the Sorrenti editorial, but I think that they are Alt's trademarks and they add a bit of artistic irony to the magazine, a bit of pop art theory. In fact, I think one of the major aspects that sets Vogue Paris apart from other magazines is its unification of street culture and high fashion. This juxtaposition makes the magazine both accessible and elitist at the same time, a perfect balance for a fashion magazine.

"La décaDanse"
Daria Werbowy and Francesco Vezzoli, Ph Mario Testino
Realised by Carine Roitfeld

Scanned by me.

Will scan Lily + Crystal tomorrow!
Have a nice evening everybody

^Nice! This can be added to the list of Carine's taboo themes. Sex at the office never looked so damn hot !

Ah I just read that it is supposed to be inspired by Serge Gainsbourg and Jane Birkin, but it looks more like two co-workers sneaking off to a back room for illicit sex ! The styling is more 9-5 cubicle (albeit Paris 9-5 cubicle) than Serge and Jane.

Thanks so much for all the scans elsa, we all really appreciate it!

Can't wait for Lily's ed tomorrow, so excited to see it!

holy crap is the daria ed sexy. wow.

there is absolutely nothing sexy about the natasha ed. it is the opposite of sexy.

even the magdalena ed is pretty sexy because the photog knew what angles to work.

with such a heavily sexed themed issue, i am even more confused by the cover.

WOW! I think that Natasha is starting to rival Gisele in the way that she is able to curve her body! What a stunning editorial.

I love Natasha's editorial, she looks amazing
Magdalena's also...but why cut her gorgeous face in some of the shots.

OMG 58 people active

it makes nonsense  daria and that man are supposed to look like gainsbourg and jane? well, i can hardly notice the resemblance. the styling and daria's make-up make her look bitchy, and sincerely, that's not the way i'm used to imagine jane. she wore short dresses, but in a sort of childish, naive, but still sexy way, and pulled them off gracefully... to be honest, daria looks everything but sensual and elegant here (i guess it's the way sensuality and elegance are considered nowadays...?)
