I'm sick of Kate but I think this is a beautiful cover. I love that sun-kissed look on her and the Lanvin is, of course, amazing. She reminds me so much as Ursula Andress as a Bond Girl here.

Let's say W can't put its price up to cover the cost of glossy paper. Would we accept better paper quality in W if it had to be offset by a reduction in size?

This is EXACTLY like Weber's editorial of Kate in Detroit for W. I hated it then and I hate it now.

The Roversi edit is absolutely beautiful though.

That's exactly the Ed I was thinking of when I saw it too! Fortunately for me I really liked it. I actually liked the Motown one better.


I was also disappointed to see Kate was only the cover of the magazine. It's ok I guess since they did give her an ed around Nov/Dec didn't they? It was very black and like gothic victorian style if I remember.

About the paper - I remember reading an article about the increasing cost of paper and it's effect on newspapers and magazines in one of my dad's business mags (I was bored). I don't remember much but the bottom line was basically paper and trees and all of that is getting so expensive so either prices will climb, quality will sink, or both (no-brainer right?). Also they are looking at new materials but I don't remember details.

You got that right Faith. I've got some 'V' mags sitting here that have some 2 pagers are going to be toughies to scan. Especially the March issue has a 2 page spread of Raquel in a cheesecake pose I'd love to get onto disk.
