W Magazine August 2014 : Mila Kunis by Michael Thompson

Still looks fake  Please let the text and font be a one-time mistake... And having Mila Kunis shot as a sixties girl is not fresh...

I'm actually surprised they didn't do a 70s theme considering that was the 'decade' during which her and Ashton met.  Not a fan of this cover, it looks very poorly done.

I just got my issue in the mail, Banal Plus makes the entire issue. It's a must see. If my scanner was big enough I'd post it!

The cover is just bizarre. Terrible even. I don't get it because the editorial looks amazing.

Klein is brilliant as ever.

I saw the Venetia Scott and Malgosia edit and it's really amazing too.

Klein's editorial makes Jason look like some sort of demonic, asian ventriloquist dummy.

I hope we see more Venetia Scott in W  there are too few female photographers getting high profile work. There's Annie and Inez, who of course partners with her husband. Venetia's edit is very W - it could easily have fit into the 90's issues of W.

If you aren't fond of short bowl-cut wigs (W loves them!), don't get too excited about the McDean edit

 Will those wigs ever go away?!

Banal Plus looks interesting and I love the styling looks cool, I think i'm going to enjoy it based on the cast.

LOL at Jason Wu. Who is he kidding?

Banal Plus looks exquisite. Love the muted colors.

God....the styling in "Banal Plus" is disgusting. I'm so over this awful normcore, athletic-sock-with-an-Adidas-water-slide look...it's so lazy and condescending. Enough already. It's a dead horse.

I despise it as well-- don't think I'd claim it as disgusting, though... LOL

Ha.

Is Jason Wu marketing himself as a personality to boost his brand-- or does he just have a huge ego?

I can understand when someone like Tom Ford, and even Alexander Wang, claim the limelight because they are very charismatic, as well as having a very distinguishable design identity. But Wu can't claim either one of those characteristics...

Very awkward.

Oh well, at least W's graphic design is starting to be consistent.
