I found Tilda's editorial to be stunning. She's never looked better, imo.:wub: Tim's work with W is just absolutely sublime. Remember the Humpty Dumpty Couture ed from a few years ago with Kloss? I love W. If you put Vogue, HB and W side by side and asked me to pick the best of them my answer would definitely be W. The editorials are always whimsical and have a story to tell. Vogue seems to be commercialized and Harpers Bazaar, well.. since the renovation has been a mess. W is such a truly high fashion magazine. This gives me the feeling of it. The cover is beautiful, the editorials are beautiful (the hair one is stunning, too), everything is beautiful.

Love Tilda, love Walker's work. But enough, we know what they can do together and how edgy and weird they can go. I wish I could see Tilda in a pretty editorial sometimes too, not the alien style. I've seen this before and I wanted to see her in a classier and prettier editorial... I hope one day she will get Vogue Italia's cover...

~Weird and edgy is a completely pretentious view of Tim's work. Not everything that aspires to lofty ideas and dreamscapes has to have that blatant commercial sheen and perfunctory visuals. I don't get how this isn't seen as "pretty" (beyond) because Tilda gives an aura that exudes class and versatility which is clearly captured. Unless by pretty, you mean the vapid, mundane stuff that you see being glorified in every other magazine, not just the fashion-centric ones.

My comment started at the point you said: "He's a storyteller who tells the same story, each and every shoot he's commissioned to do." That's a solid criticism on Tim's work, not a matter of personal taste, which a fully respect.

Did they lie though? :innocent:

^It doesn't take much to see that their statement is untrue, if you are actually familiar with his work.

And even if that were true, I'll take the 'same story' over an overly photoshopped editorial with no story at all, thank you very much.

But isn't that what we are doing though? It wouldn't be an open and different-minded debate if we all agreed with you.

Of course not. It's getting implied that I'm a liar, so I think it's turned into a personal argument if you ask me. What you perceived as a negative comment of mine was constructive criticism. You just misunderstood the entire time.

I won't be commenting on the matter any further because I feel like this is ruining the thread for others, when half the content hasn't even been posted. So lets just agree to disagree.
