Wearing tons of bracelets / bangles

I can't believe how big this trend has gotten..... It's just EVERYWHERE on the streets.....

My friend wore these Indian-style gold bracelets... I was with her when she bought them and at first I thought she was buying too many, but when I saw her wearing ALL of then, they looked STUNNING!!!

You're right that does look stunning! I  it, it's so striking! Thanks for that pic!

I've tried the look, and it drives me crazy because I work at a desk -- the clacking every time I try to write!

I know what you mean!!! When I am at the computer I usually remove my bracelets since they end up hurting my wrists, especially when I have to write something down. I still wear them though... just remove them while working...

I love to wear tons of bangles!!!! I´m actually known for that by all my friends because they can hear my just by my bangles. I always make a noise with my jewelry. I think it looks really amazing.

I loved it on Charlize in Head in the Clouds.

You know, I've never had a problem with bangles. They add a nice little touch to the arms. I used to wear three or four of those wrist bands around my wrists. I've found nothing bad about metal bangles around the wrists to add a little extra sizzle to a casual outfit. I haven't seen a lot of bangles for semi-formal looks.

Looking at these larger bangles kind of makes me think why one would have such big bangles. Some of the larger bangles look like a poor job by the local police of catching criminals because the larger bangles look like handcuffs that aren't bound together by chains. Not to mention stylish handcuffs... ^_^ I wouldn't wear those larger bangles if I were a lady. I'd probably go with the smaller and thinner bangles. About four or seven bangles around the wrists would do the job for me. Simplicity is my key word.

I think the trend is hot if you combinate it well with the rest of the outfit and pick the right colours. I especially love these from Chanel S/S 06(?)

I like the way they're done by Accessories & Beyond:

The leather bands mean less clanging and banging on desks.

now y'all just make me wanna take out those tons of bracelets and bangles i bought for a costume party years ago! haha. it does look nice. i never thought of it as being a trend though. still, i'm gonna take em out and start wearing them!

how many bangles would qualify as 'tons of bangles' ?
more than three?

Whenever I see pictures of this it makes me mad because I can't wear most bangles as I have a hard time getting them over my stupid hands. Grr. I think this look is so fun, but I can't do it!

Well, I've seen a maximum of about seven bangles from femmes that I've known and seen. So my threshold would probably be no more than 7 or 10. I'm talking about bangles on one arm. So if someone had seven bangles on both arms, then you can say that no more than 14 or 20 total. I still find smaller bangles to work best than a lot of big bangles.

But... that's just me. That's just your Texas boy's thinking...

Eek :/

I feel that this look is only nice if you have the right outfit to pull it off...

Good point, SweetBody. I think brown or camel-colored clothing would work best. More earthly tones would look very nice. I kind of think of Fall in regards to more earthly colors. You have to think casual with these bangles because I haven't seen bangles as suitable formal wear. Evening wear is possible, but I've seen this mostly for the trendy and fashionable femme's casual daytime clothing. You could probably get away with wearing these bangles with elbow-sleeve clothes. Short sleeves or sleeveless tops would work best with these bangles.

This is an off-topic note. An old JCPenney sale paper I have offered a pack of 50 bangles for sale. So it MAY be possible to have a lot of bangles on your arm. Thing is, 25 would be too many. I'd probably keep the details to a minimum and only show off what you'd like to show off. The bangles should likely compliment a look not BE the look.

i love the look, and have done it before.
the only problem with so many bracelets is that it can tend to get into the way of a lot things you do, which is really annoying.
