What Are Your Thoughts On Plastic Surgery?

I would like to know what a nose job feels like after the surgery and how long it takes to heal. Thanks.

Sweetfantasy, it's not pleasant but really not that bad. I had very little pain, if I started to feel anything I took some vicodin and it went away. You have to sleep at a 45 degree angle for the first week or two so they give you some sleeping pills to help with that. With all the stuff I was taking I definitely felt a little drugged up. The worst part by far is the congestion, it's like the worst flu you've ever had x 10 but you cant blow your nose. You cant shower until you get the split off, for me it was 9 days but some doctors take it off sooner. You should try to eat soft food or cut it up into tiny pieces for the first week and avoid laughing or sneezing through your nose. My eyes were bruised for about 10 days but most of the bruising cleared up in half the time. All the swelling in my face cleared up in 2-3 weeks. You cant excersize, wear sunglasses or pick your nose for 5 weeks. Be careful when taking clothes off over your head and sleep on your back. Swelling in your nose depends on the technique and what your getting done - open swells a lot longer than closed and the tip swells more than the rest of the nose. At 2.5 months, my nose is still really hard, its numb at the base where the insicion was and feels strange in general, like it's something stuck on my face instead of it being a part of me. My friend that had it done several years ago still feels the numbness, it never goes away for some.

So basically... It's uncomfertable, but not terrible and totally worth it.

^^It feels a lot better knowing that it doesn't hurt so bad... I've had a kidney removed, and it was 100% pain all the way I have a check-up appointment with my doctor this wednesday, and I'm going to ask her about the sleeping pills. I know I'm not going to take any painkillers, they give me headaches and I don't like doing it with my reduced kidney-situation

I must admit that when I had a cold earlier this year I used Zymelin, god damn stupid spray. I had nose bleeds for two months, I hope I haven't done any damage

I want to get my nose done so bad! I want to get the bridge heightened and I want to add length. I also hate the fact that my nose gets very flat and wide when I smile. Can they fix something like that? Does anyone know how much it would cost to make the changes I want? Too bad I am broke.

Building on to the nose is usually harder than taking it down so you really want to make sure you go to a very experienced surgeon. There are also some that specialize in asian/african american noses. All costs included you can expect to pay at least $8000 and it can go up from there.

I made an appt with another plastic surgeon I dont like the thought of having something else done but I really really hate my calves and diet/excersize does not help.

A lot of doctors say it's perfectly safe but Dr. Toriumi, a very well known plastic surgeon has an article about problems that can occur. I think the jury's still out.

I'm paying $5000 (28000 Danish kroner), and I think the price for a nose job at my surgeon is from 18000-28000 DKR...

Are you doing calf reduction or calf implants? i've been seriously considering calf reduction...

Ida does that include anesthesia and facility fee? If it does rhinoplasty must be cheaper where you are! The best can get up to 12-15 k total here.

I rather take care of my body, eat properly, exercise regularly, maintain a healthy lifestyle, than have to resort to plastic surgery to make myself look good.

No amount of plastic surgery will make anyone look good as Iman at 50-something. The natural route is better.

The biggest problem I have with plastic surgery is that it promotes a stupid "beauty standard" that will make people feel pressured to achieve. I find it bland, unappealing, and fake. I prefer those people have quirky, odd, unique faces and features, but manage to carry it off with aplomb with their confidence and force of personality.

Uniq...i dont get it ur goregous!! i've seen some of your photos modelling dresses and outfits and you could amazing skin and body shape!!!

But i guess its does an inner confidence boost to some people, and some get so obesessed...like u could easily fall into, let me do this , let me fix this, another nose surgery, or an eye lid surgery etc...i met a girl who did a nose job cause she had a breathing problem, so its technically not a "plastic surgery" but she fell in the obesession trap...she did three nose surgeries in one year!!! and now she is looking into hip implants or lipo..not sure what the procedure is, but its to give her more of a curve shape? like more hips? dunno but its too extreme.....i think moderation is good in everything!!
i love reading about them and hearing people's opinions! its interesting!

Yes, that includes everything I think it's because there is 10-12 rhino surgeons in DK, so they aren't as trained as some in other countries... There isn't a lot of patients either, Scandinavians do have relatively small noses.

So you are going to go to either Taiwan or South Korea right? I think those are the only places that can do that type of surgery at the moment. When are you going to do it? I still have to save up! But its nice to find someone else who hates their calves as much as I do and ankle surgery?! I didn't think that was possible

The muscle shaving sounds a little scary and I'm not convinced it's safe, so I'm just seeing if I have enough fat in my calves where lipo would be worth it. I have both extra muscle and a disproportionate amount of fat in my lower legs.

i have heard that you can get botox in your calf muscles to reduce their size. the muscle doesn't get worked as much and it shrinks in size.
